They had a soft opening last night for contractors and employees. Not surer when they will open to public. you can get there from 42 or 25. Signs are in both places. It is an upscale gator joes.

I have several coworkers that went the last two nights and thoroughly enjoyed themselves. They said the sunset was fantastic.

Great view, good drinks, okay food that we had. A little pricey.

Shimpy 11-01-2013 03:47 PM

I looked up menu, got nice discriptions but no prices.

We went there today for lunch. Excellent food! Wait staff seems very organized. The gumbo soup is to die for!! A bowl of this could be a meal. Great views. My husband had the shrimp creole and I had the fried chicken. This place is a MUST to try. Easy to get to. They give directions on their website. I didn't notice a house salad and the coleslaw serving was just a "taste". I could be wrong about the house salad. We will definitely return!!!!

I have eaten at several Tampa Bay area restaurants where Chef Dave Del Rio ran the kitchen ... all had excellent food.

Most notably, Del Rio’s Cafe. Which is were he refined his Cuban/Spanish/Creole fusion style. His Gumbo rivals Mulate's in NOLA!

LndLocked 11-03-2013 07:36 PM

Had dinner there last night with my far, far too good look'en GF for me.

Nice place. Well done up scale, Fla cracker, fish camp kinda motif. Nice indoor and outdoor dining areas with small'ish indoor bar area. Down stairs is a large outdoor bar that was a pretty happening scene with a band playing. BIG beach area on the lake with floating docks large enough for 20 25 boats to tie off.

Service was good and the staff was trying hard ... for their 4th day they are off to a good start.

Decent beer selection (they did New Belgium Fat Tire on tap) but considering they had $80.00 bottles of Champagne on the menu, I thought the beer selection would/should have more craft and micro brew selections.

Food was VERY good! Excellent smoked fish dip (Mahi & Wahoo) for starter. GF & I shared a bowl of gumbo (it was every bit as good as Del Rio's Cafe I mentioned above) and Shrimp-n-Grits ... very, very good. Even though we were stuffed (nice sized portions of all 3 of the above) ... we simply could not resist trying the Sunset Orange Cake and it was outstanding! with a wonderful fresh orange flavor.

Entree prices are in the $12 - 20.00 range. For the quality and portion, I think they are very fairly priced.

Both owners came around and chatted us up in a genuine kinda way .... both nice guys and I wish them well ... I think they will.

I can assure you that we will be back and taking friends with us!

Eaton's, Lake Weir

Went there tonight with friends. Had an EXCELLENT meal, great pomegranate martini, and our waitress, Megan, was one of the best waitresses we've had anywhere. She was professional, friendly and had a great sense of humor, besides being attentive. Will definitely go back. Oh, and the sunset was spectacular. Would love to go back when it's warm enough to sit outside. They do have the heatlamps outside and there were people sitting outside on the porch. Not brave enough to try that tonight.

Just heard recently of this restaurant. Review was pretty good. Not far from The Villages off 42

mickey100 02-14-2014 06:29 AM

Its a lovely place to eat, on the water. We especially like it when the weather is warmer.

dp000 02-14-2014 12:24 PM

Went there Tuesday night. Four in our party. Arrived at 5:00pm and were seated immediately. It was 15 minutes before we were waited on and other 20 minutes before the drinks arrived. Had to ask for silverware. When food arrived, on 3 dinners came and had to wait 10 minutes for the fourth meal.
The server was very friendly, but the service was still terrible. Never came around to see if we needed anything. Two couples came in about 15 minutes after we did, and had their drinks, dinner and paid the bill and left before we got our dinners.
The food was very good, and will give it another chance, but they need some serious work with there servers.

Yorio 02-14-2014 04:29 PM

Have to try their special Bloody Mary. Though not much of a hard liquor drinker, thought this was one of the best Bloody Mary I had in some time. Nice place. Hope to return when the weather gets warmer and perhaps watch ladies beach volley ball like in CA. Dreaming? Perhaps

Eaton!s Beach

Dp000, we were also there on Tuesday at 5pm, with a party of 8. The food was good, we had no waits for drinks or food, even tho they were very busy. We would all go back.

Barefoot 02-15-2014 01:26 AM

We are big fans of Eaton's Beach. Love the ambiance, beachy casual.

TomOB 02-15-2014 10:01 PM

We go frequently. Above Villages prices but very relaxing setting...key word relaxing. We do go early or for late lunch/early dinner and avoid the crowd.

Could management or the super in charge not have seen this? Shame on management for not coming to their table and making it right. Why does the customer always have to call management.

Phanatic Luvr 02-15-2014 10:57 PM

We went to Eaton Beach this evening also. Arrived at 5:50pm and was told it would be a 2 1/2 hour wait. Left and went to Carrabba's, an hour and a half wait there. Left and went to Mezza Luna. Got right in and had a very nice dinner.
Will go back to Eaton Beach again, nice setting, but not on a weekend and most likely in April when the population thins out.

almark45 02-16-2014 12:07 AM

Went to Eaton's with a large group for lunch. The food was great, and the view of the lake is spectacular!!! Will definitely take out of town company there!!

Went there today

The place is much bigger than I imagined. Parked a block away. Wait was 1 hour 15 minutes.
We went to the bar below and got drinks. Bloody Mary was $12. You got a skewer and go to a table where you can add shrimp , olives, and about 12 other items. We were called to our table in 45 minutes. Great service (Tracy ), Very good food. Dinner for 2 plus 20% tip was $48. Lots of young people at the downstairs bar.

maybe they didn't like you....heeeee....opps me bad !!!!

BarryRX 02-28-2014 04:19 PM

Wife and I went there for the first time. Great bartender and loved the appetizers. The garlic fries were the best I've ever had. Great view of the lake. All in all a very enjoyable afternoon, but they are very busy!

I guess that tells us something!

Eaton Beach

This is a fairly new restaurant where the food is excellent. The chef was trained in France, then resided in New Orleans making his menu meals a combination of French/Southern. The macaroni and cheese is the best I have ever had, the shrimp and grits are exceptional. You can sit upstairs view water views, or drive your boat up the the docks. There is a sizeable beach for the kiddies. Saturday night had a 4 hour wait (not kidding), so we came back during the week for lunch.

railroadman 03-07-2014 12:14 PM

Do you have an address, for this new restaurant?

Thank You - Randy

Think I'll go in May - actually drove by and it looks awesome.

Richard1366 03-07-2014 01:31 PM

I wouldn't wait 4 hours if they were giving the food away!!

BarryRX 03-07-2014 03:38 PM

Wife and I sat at the bar last week around 4pm. Besides some beers we had the gumbo and the garlic fries. Both were great!

So, how many before dinner drinks did you consume while waiting? LOL. I love this place, but it will be better when there are fewer people around here.

Just returned from Eaton's Beach Sandbar and Grille. First visit. After parking, there was a group of people who cornered us and complained about how they had called ahead and still waited too long for their liking ans they suggested we just turn around and leave. We had called ahead and took the gamble that the wait was worth it. We had one drink at the bar and were seated. The food was the BEST in the area, the staff was wonderful, the chef visited tables truly interested in feedback and the view was simply unbelievable. Proof that this type of restaurant can be a great success when done correctly. We encourage more restauranteurs to consider the business model used by Eaton's Beach!!

Indydealmaker 03-12-2014 09:56 PM

We have been taking vacationing guests and business associates to Eaton's Beach and the feedback has been 100% positive.

Had lunch there
Will return

No matter what timeout go there is a long wait...we were told to come at 11 AM when they open if we do not want to wait....will do that soon.

butterfly sue 03-17-2014 10:58 AM

We went at Eaton's yesterday arriving at 11:15 am. The place was hopping. Beach area full with sun bathers, some young ones playing volley ball. Downstairs packed when we left. They do have a separate restaurant downstairs that carries hot dogs and brats and, I suppose, other lighter fare.

We ate upstairs. Husband ordered Spanish Catfish (so good the first time we visited), I had Shrimp Creole (a little too much sauce, would like to taste the shrimp more, but not bad). Friends had Spanish Chicken (very good) and something else. Service a little slow, BUT it was so busy and NOT a problem for us. Food worth the short wait. Friends were impressed.

Upstairs restaurant was packed.

Beautiful day and great food. Glad to see them busy.

Bus was running helping people who had to park further away.

jimmy the n 03-24-2014 01:51 PM

went for lunch at 2 p.m.thinking it was a way to beat the crowds.wrong!2 hr. wait!
