FHP investigating crash scene where Villager found dead in golf cart

The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating an accident in which a Villager was found dead lying across the floorboard of a golf cart which had collided with a fence within the complex of Saddlebrook Club Softball Complex.

The crash scene was discovered at 3:02 a.m. this morning.

Found dead at the scene was 52-year-old Garret Allanino of The Villages.

The cause of death is still under investigation as there were no apparent fatal injuries, said Sgt. Steve Gaskins of the Florida Highway Patrol.

So sad, too young, pray for the family.

I wonder where he lived. Not showing his name on Sumterpa.com. Since he is so young, perhaps he was the son of a villager.

So sad. Wonder what he was doing there in the middle of the night.

Very sad to have read this story also. Unfortunately must have had a medical event leading to the crash. Our prayers to the family.

he may have been "discovered" at 3 AM but who knows how long he was there....could have been early evening the night before.....or?

FHP releases autopsy results in case of Villager found dead in golf cart

The Florida Highway Patrol has released autopsy results which conclude that a 52-year-old Villager died early Sunday morning as the result of a golf cart accident.

The body of Villager Garret Allanino was discovered at about 3 a.m. Sunday lying across the floorboard of a golf cart which had collided with a fence within the complex of Saddlebrook Club Softball Complex.

“FHP Investigators will continue with their traffic homicide investigation regarding the incident,” said Sgt. Steve Gaskins of the Florida Highway Patrol.
