Forrest Gump's box of chocolates.

Forrest Gump's Bench and the Legend of the Chippewa Square Bus Stop

I was wondering if anyone has watched the great movie Forrest Gump recently? What kind of candy box is it that features in the movie? See's? Some Savannah brand of candy?

I have been excited about things in movies for a very long time, at least, since Outbreak from 1995 or so. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0114069/

The box is Russel Stovers however the chocolate is from a candy store in Beauford SC. They still send Tom Hanks (aka Forrest) chocolate every year.

By the way the Bridge over the MISSISSIPPI that forrest runs over is also in Beauford SC . Shhhhh it will be our secret!:posting:

I believe it is called the Chocolate Tree.

The Chocolate Tree located in Beaufort SC. The Chocolate Tree is Beaufort's one-stop-shop for fine chocolates and other confections made right on the premises!

I watched some of Forrest Gump last night. Great performances by Sally Field and Tom Hanks.

I too find it interesting when viewing movies that I've seen hundreds of times, to pick-up something new.

an all-time fave....love everybody in it, the loose nutty story, and the story of our lives, we hippy-di-do-dahs...
smiling all over,

life IS like a box of chocolates and I still don't know what I'm going to get..

....finally stopped at the Russell Stover factory outlet MEGA-STORE in Wildwood.

..besides the Forrest Gump type of boxes of chocolates...
...they even have lots of flavors of Jelly Belly Jelly Beans.

Straight West on SR 44 , go past US 301.....and over the RailRoad Bridge....
...behold the vision of the MEGA Store on the North side of 44.
(across from Traditions Antique Mall.)

..Since it is only 2 miles due West of "Brownwood"- Paddock Square .....
....it is much too tempting to make return visits.

Thanks for the information, mrfixit.

I have kind of a unique relationship to movies. Of course, it could all be in my head as well.

My mother and I went to see Outbreak that first week it opened at the movie theater in Petaluma, CA in 1995.
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0114069/

Petaluma, California - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

When they showed a certain scene where the number 613 comes up in the movie, the man behind me whispered in my ear "Did you see that?"

I thought I must be going crazy as I did not know this man but did go to that theater on a regular basis. NO ONE has ever told me one way or another. Hope can do crazy things to you.

Why is this number important to me? I had fought for the right of access to practical information for survivors/victims of crimes using the numbers 224 and 613 from mid-1993 onward. 224 is my birthday and 613 was my subject number in a late 1992-1993 study on stress on the unemployed at the U of California SF School of Public Health. I was getting a reputation in Sonoma County, CA and a judge at the Sonoma County Courthouse even had acknowledged my efforts when I was on the jury panel for a drug trafficking court case but was thrown off the panel by the prosecutor. Never could figure that one out. I thought it would have been the defense that put in the challenge.

My efforts on the cause of access to practical information by then were international but I often felt like I was getting nowhere until I heard that whisper from that man behind me at the Petaluma Theater. Of course, it could have just been something I misheard given how much hope I had put into all of my work making some impact. I did not track the man now and ask him what he meant as I never have liked causing a scene especially one that could have ended with me in a straight jacket.

Forrest said, "life is like a box of chocolates, you never know what you are going to get" but life is like a roll of toilet paper, "The closer you get to the end, the faster it goes!"

I prefer reading over watching movies, but Forrest Gump the movie was way better than the book.

Does Russell Stovers candy make a mixed box like Sees or Fanny May?

(It seems to be on the inexpensive side of the boxed candy world along with Whitmans)

.

:1rotfl: My mother used to say something likethis to me when she was much older. The days go faster. I never knew what she meant until I got older and the days are going fast.

They do that! Sometimes I am not sure if it is Saturday or Sunday and I am not a drinker. Plus, I tape a lot of shows so I cannot tell if it is Saturday by watching Saturday Night Live as I often do not see it until Wednesday and sometimes they repeat it on another day of the week in a shortened version.

Did any else see last week's Person of Interest? Very interesting! http://www.cbs.com/shows/person_of_i...-perfect-mark/
