No Toilets or Showers Today
 

Last night my toilet no longer was flushing. We soon discovered the problem wasn't solely this one toilet but the entire house ! Neither toilet will flush. When the shower is used the toilet bubbles we can't wash dishes or clothes. We called Home Property at 8:30 this morning. They gave us a phone number for a plumber and here it is 6:15 and dispite numerous phone calls we still are without the facilities so we need to go to the local pool and use the toilet there. This is crazy !!! I'm promised that the problem will be resolved by the end of the day.
I live in Collier and have only been living here for one month.
Has anyone else had this annoying problem happen to them. We may need to sleep at friends house tonight Just so angry !

That must be very frustrating. I have no words of advise just words of encouragement that it will some how, some way get straightened out and you will be back to enjoying life again. What an inconvenience. Keep us posted on how it is going, please.

I know it sounds terrible now, but in a few months, or years.. you'll have a really good story to tell at parties.

It happened about a month after we moved into new house.
 

Happened to us too. Keep running water in the bathtub the same time you are flushing.

I don't know whether construction debris gets in the main drain or what, but they did resolve it within the day.

You can shower at our house. I mean it. Honest.

Mike Scott Plumbing actually just got here. The problem is in the line to the street which is clogged with sand and debris so now they need to get someone from the water district to fix it. In the meantime Mike Scott was nice enough to put a temporary fix so we can use the toilet. Because we have no neighbors sharing the line it took this long to happen if they were here we would have noticed it sooner. Feeling better ......that a solution will be in the near future.

A temporary fix when the problem is on the street side? Hmmm I'm glad you are feeling better though.

They have removed construction debris 3 times from our system. Fortunately we have 3 bathrooms and the one furthest downstream still works when it goes out. They have to remove the master toilet and run a snake down the line. I have a large piece of the material which looks like white plastic in a zip lock as proof. If it happens after the warrantee runs out I think I have enough documentation to hold the original plumber responsible for a while.

What street do you live on? We have a house in Collier and were up north so I'm wondering if this will affect our house also. Our house is on Alwyne Ave.

My husband said that isn't the plumber. That is the painter or sheetrock guys washing out their tools.

This has been the concern of other residents on here. Sometimes junk either from the tile guys or whomever gets in the pipe. At times I just like to run the water a little longer just to be safe. ALL the pipes are under the concrete and you never know. I don't let paper build up in the bowls and also rinse the sinks good after using them. A few extra gallons of water is cheaper then digging up the floor.

When this happens go outside and unscrew the cleanout plug in your yard...[ This is a white plastic PVC plug 4 inches around ] this will allow the house to drain in your yard until the plumber gets there not what you want BUT it is better than in your house.

We had contractors drive over that white cap while the house was being built. 15 feet down in the ground is an elbow that connects to the street. This elbow was split and caused everything to back up. They had to dig up our yard and driveway 16-17 feet down. The Villages paid for it all.

Thank you everyone ! OMI came and fixed the problem. Yes it was concrete, sand that was clogging everything. No one lives next to us yet so that's why it didn't happen immediately it took a month to build up. Thanks for all the helpful tips.
