Need a Roofer

We need some cracked roof shingles replaced on our patio villa. Does anyone know of a reputable roofing company? How long are the roof shingles warranted for?

Thank you.

You should check with the warranty dept., there was a batch of defective shingles installed around 2008-2009, your shingles may be covered under warranty by owens Corning?

Batterby Roofing did my roof under the warrenty on shingles provided by Owens Corning. OC covered 100% of the costs.

Batterby did an excllent job in about 1/2 day.

Good luck

Thank you. I'm calling the warranty dept. today. We are the 2nd owners of our villa and were not aware that we should have transferred the warranty when we purchased our home. I would think either the sales agent or the closing agents should inform new buyers to transfer warranties if they are applicable. Since we didn't transfer the warranty for the roof, I have a feeling the roof repair will not be covered.

If you have no luck with the warranty dept and want to know if you should be covered under the Owens Corning warranty for the batch of defective shingles that were put on many homes in the Villages you should contact Owens Corning. They have a claim you can file over the phone and they will send an inspector out to look at your roof if you are within the correct dates. Many of our neighbors have had their roofs replaced this way.

Coverages

You may want to be aware that in a number of cases Owen's Corning is denying labor for replacing defective roofs. They will offer to pay for replacement of shingles but the labor is on you. The labor can and is usually much more expensive than the shingles. The net is they provide bad shingles which must be replaced and then expect the customer to pay the majority of the costs for the defective roofs. I believe the POA is looking into this as a pretty bad problem for some residents and may provide support. We should all be real thankful for their [POA] being apart of the Villages.:rant-rave:

In case the OP needs it, the Owens Corning Warranty phone number is 1-800-766-3464. BTW, we are using C&S Residential Roofing (352-637-0049) and they just happen to be on our roof as I type this post, working on replacing all our tiles.
