Supermakets Open On Thanksgivng?

I know Publix and Sam's will be closed for the holiday but I was wondering if anyone knew if, other supermarkets are open like Winn-Dixie and Sweetbay?

Do bakeries carry dinner rolls? If yes, where can I go?

If not, I guess I will have to plan accordingly. I just don't want some stuff, to be stale. :(

Sweetbay is open

Sweetbay is open Thanksgiving day until 5 I am picking up a dinner order at 4:00... The clerk said UNFORTUNATELY we are open until 5 but don't feel bad I am ordering my dinner from here too! Made me chuckle.

Please don't shop on Thanksgiving Day.

And some want to work on Thanksgiving because they're alone or really need the money -- like Christmas, there are usually enough who volunteer to work that those who want to be with family can (barring a few exceptions). It's a tough decision on whether to shop on Thanksgiving Day, one that needs to be left up to each individual.

AND they all should be getting time and a half holiday pay.

I remember when Publix was closed on Sundays and reportedly had mandatory prayer meetings for employees

Really? Can you provide a link to substantiate this?

My personal opinion is that store should be closed on Thanksgiving or at least close at noon. A positive note is that the retailers in TV do not open until noon on Sundays (correct me if I'm wrong). That's a plus. My father told me that you "should be able to give the Lord at least an hour a week (meaning Sundays). Most of us here grew up when NOTHING but a couple of newsstands weren't open on Sundays. Sundays were set aside for Church and a big Sunday meal and family. Reminiscing too much.

I've been shopping at Publix since 1965 in south Florida and never remember them being closed on Sundays. Please refresh our memories with that link.
