Another first in the golf cart lanes!!!

Another first in the golf cart lanes!!!

2 carts traveling south down Canal St., single file, just after the gate below Bonita Blvd.

A turf grass truck was parked in the cart lane off -loading grass for Kenya course.

Carts had to go out into traffic lane to pass, no issue yet... still single file.

Now it gets interesting.

Approaching Cottageville La., cart 1 goes back into cart lane as soon as possible.

Cart 2 speeds up on the road portion, passes cart 1 then, to my wife's and my dismay, (travelling behind them in car on Canal) he turns right onto Cottageville cutting off cart 1. Thought an accident was unavoidable, but he just made it!

You can't make this stuff up.

As I said, It's silly season ...be very careful out there.

I like that "silly season"!!

Once again, why the big hurry?

OP, this may be your first but I've seem similar cart incidents several times in TV. Golf Carts are not "toys" as some residents think----they are transportation vehicles and as such very serious vehicles.

I know there are golf cart accidents almost everyday in TV. A 20 mph accident in a golf cart can cause serious, even fatal, injuries. Over the last eight years I've seen golf cart traffic increase and speed increased too. I don't like being a pessimist but I don't see anything in the future getting better.

I'm not surprised in a way. I see these clowns in a hurry every day on the multi use paths and streets. Too bad they don't dress like clowns so you can see them coming.

We were behind a golf-cart on Morse going south from the last gate near SS. It was weaving in the cart lane even going up over the curb on 2 wheels then back to the lane again. Amazing it didn't tip over!! It wasn't going all that fast so we passed it. In it was a VERY elderly appearing lady who didn't seem to be phased by anything. We just wanted to get out of the way just in case. Scarey!!!!

We were coming home from Spanish Springs 7:30 pm , dark out, got behind a cart with no lights on. The person was weaving all over the cart path sometimes all four wheels going off the path. She missed hitting 2 trees just barely. Along the way she ran oncoming carts off the path. It was the scariest thing for us. We stayed behind trying to shine our lights so she could maybe see. As we got to the crossing at El Santiago she did stop for the stop sign. My husband walked over to her and told her to put her lights on, she didn't seem to know where they were. He turned them on for her. She completely ignored the stop light and pulled right out in front of a car, driver flashing his lights and blowing his horn.... on she went ..... I don't know where she was going but I certainly hope she made it.

Its scary---today by St. Timothy's a car beside completely ignored the police instructions to stop and just kept going. What !!!!!

on our way home from dinner tonight going thru the tunnel on BV near Canal Street a jeep Cherokee came driving thru the tunnel. He was driving south out of the tunnel and we saw him then drive over the grassy area and onto the street. Scary!!!!!

I walk all over The Villages from Brownwood all the way up to Mulberry Rec Center. I have seen some similar things. Last week I was headed beck home from Brownwood on the multi modal path by the south Collier entrance when a car came around the corner on the path. I waved and they stopped and they got back to the Collier gate. They were new and saw the gate closed (did not pull up far enough to cause it to open), so they turned right on the path.

Expect anything these days.....

See if you can top this---

I was heading North on Morse going to SS. Coming South in the g/c lane
was 2 people pushing an elderly female in a wheel chair.:boom:

My wife and I were driving our golf cart southbound on the multi-model path along BV Blvd between Stillwater and Lake Miona Rec Center at night during a rain storm where visibility was limited. We saw a set of headlights that seemed wider than on a standard golf cart and it turned out to be a Ford Explorer zipping along their merry way on the path. We quickly realized it was not a golf cart and pulled to the right to give plenty of room.

ok, not inside TV, but just over in Wildwood, 301, which is a US highway, the right lane, car parked to load granny and her walker after her shopping venture. I'm resorting to prayer, not that it's a last resort, but I'm praying for TV TRAFFIC ANGELS. Let it be so.

What amazes me is that retired people are in such a hurry. This was the most surprising thing that hit me when moving to Florida. I thought retired people would be driving well below the speed limit, but usually you are getting tailgated if you are not at least 5-10 miles over the speed limit. Why such be in such a hurry to get to Walmart?!?
