Hi I'm new to the site. We are thinking of moving to tv and I noticed lots of posts about dogs. Are dogs not allowed in some areas.? Also are you not allowed to fence your yard? We having been raising guide dogs for the Guidedog Foundation for the Blind and currently have one "reject" who is our family dog. We are dog people and will miss raising guidedogs when we move. But as long as we have one furry friend we'll be happy.

grammy...here's a quick answer; lots of info on the site you can find by searching.

Dogs are allowed in all neighborhoods; you must pick up after them; not allowed in pools/stores/etc. but other common areas are ok; you cannot put up a fence in any neighborhood; the next best option if doggie needs unattending running space is to buy a courtyard villa which has an enclosed back yard.

TV is very pet friendly; dogs are very popular.

Grammybear: :welcome: Raising guide dogs is a wonderful thing to do! It was very hard for us to find a nice retirement community in FLorida that accepts large (over 40 lbs) dogs. When I discovered TV, I thought I'd died and gone to heaven. We'll never be without two dogs, so I understand your concerns. There are tons of dog lovers on TOTV, and there is even a leash-free dog park which is only $25 a month for two dogs. The Pet Section of TOTV has tons of good dog information.

We had a Villa which we felt really didn't satisfy our 65lb dogs needs . We looked (and looked) and found a resale in Piedmont with 1/3 acres that backs up on a black fence. We bought it quickly installed an invisible fence and Freddy has lotsa room with lizards, snakes, squirrels, cats, armadillos, raccoons, opossums to chase (that is the wildlife we have had in our back yard). There are large lots in TV but you have to look. Most of them that I have noticed are over by Nancy Lopez. Maybe that is our bribery for living at the "other" end LOL.

God bless you for raising the Guide dogs. I don't believe that I could give them back.
