Just had a holiday party ,lots of fun!
I had a lot of leftovers, such as sandwiches
I Had to throw it all out

In the future you can take it to a homeless shelter. That's what we did when we had our sons 40th birthday celebration and had plenty of left overs. We packed it in the car and drove it to the shelter. They were happy to take it off our hands and could not thank us enough.

Do you know where the nearest homeless shelter is located?

Didn't think shelters, food pantries or food kitchens were allowed to take unpackaged, open food. Seems like the liability risks would be way too high.

I brought leftover party food to a shelter for women and children in Belleview and they were very thankful.

Grocery stores deliver open food and deli items daily to food pantries without a problem.

They do in Michigan but the guidelines in Florida could be different.

the liability issues get in the way of charitable donations. we tried to donate loaves of bread from a restaurant where our son used to work. we showed up with the loaves and were so inundated with paperwork, and the lack of enthusiasm from the staff that we took it all home and froze the loaves. maybe here in Florida they are more appreciative and less bogged down in red tape.
