Does anyone know when and where the next Welcome Reception is for new residents? Thanks in advance.

Not sure what 'welcome reception' you refer to, but maybe this will answer your question:

CDD Orientation Cancellation
The CDD Orientation normally scheduled every Thursday at 10:00am is cancelled on Thursday, November 28th in observance of Thanksgiving. Regular scheduling will resume on Thursday, December 5th at 3201 Wedgewood Lane. If you have any questions, please contact the Customer Service Center at 753-4508

And then there is the monthly TOTV get together at Crispers in Souther Trace near the Publix there on the third Friday of each month at 3pm. I'd bet that's more fun and a lot of different info is shared there! ;)

I think you mean the orientation with booths for new residents.

We were at the one on Wednesday November 24. I think the are usually the 2nd and 4th Wednesday of the month, but might be different in December due to the holidays.

Usually at Lake Miona Rec you could call them and ask.

When you got your IDs, you should have been given an invitation to the Newcomers Social. The information is in the invitation. Held every 2nd and 4th Wednesday of the month at Lake Miona from 9am - 11am. December will only have one social on 12/11 because of the holiday.

You can do as I have done several times with great success. Invite people from this forum to your home for brunch or lunch and provide the main dish, paper plates and soft drinks and ask each guest to bring an item to share.


When you get to the number you can comfortably accommodate, ask the admin to cancel the thread. Respond to each person with directions and phone number.


OR.


You can put notes on peoples doors around your home and ask them to come for coffee or cocktails and have sweet rolls or appetizers.


It has always worked for me.
