OOPS! Snowman Head Doesn't Work!
1 Attachment(s)
Attachment 27176My new $70.00 plastic snowman head does not work on my lamppost!
It fits over the sensor and the light will not come on.... Is there any way to make it work? (The snowman head was way over-priced...I would hate to not use it this year!) Thanks! Karron:( |
You should be able to tighten the bottom of the snowman hole so it won't slip over the sensor. If your pole is too thin, then you could build a little shelf over the sensor, perhaps several winds of duct tape or maybe cut a thick piece of plastic from a detergent bottle. This shelf would then hold up the bottom of the snowman.
Another alternative, instead of using the little snaps they give you to attach the two halves, get some long twist ties. Go thru the bottom holes and then around the pole above the sensor a couple times then thru the other side of the head at its bottom. This would hold the head above the sensor nicely. |
I put duct tape around the pole covering the sensor.
The light stays on all the time but it's only for 30 days and I use a CFL bulb. |
Thanks everyone!
I will try all these suggestions in the morning! |
The reason it didn't come on was it was still daylight. Should come on when dark.

You could take it to a head shrinker.

I have the opposite problem. My snowman head sits on top of the light post screws and when it's windy, the head moves, turns and changes direction. I'm having to go out and re-position the head more often than I want to!

$70....."overpriced"....did the person who sold it to you wear a mask?
That is twice the price it can be bought at the party store. btk |
