Cable Bill

I have been a customer of Century Link for two years. Like the service. O.K. with the price. Get my current bill and see an increase of $30. No notice, no explanation. I call for an explanation. My current "promotion" has expired. I indicate that I will be looking for another carrier. "Oh! We can knock off the $30. but you need to sign-up for one year. I wasn't planning to go anywhere else so that wasn't really a problem. My point is, check your cable bill no matter what company. There are discounts to be had.

Every year I must have my annual talk with Comcast...

Promotions come, promotions go and THEN I talk to Comcast....Ugh!
On my wish list, a "Magic Jack" for internet and TV use.....:ohdear::ohdear:

Century Link

I am thinking about changing from Comcast to Century link Phone, Internet and Prism TV. How do you like it and can you give me an approx cost. I have spoken to The Office in Spanish Springs and two people on their web site # and all give me different prices for the same service Can anyone help me buy giving an approx price for the essentials prism package with one dvr wired and 3 wireless. Everyone is telling me different prices as I stated.

Thanks

I wish I had Brighthouse but live north of 466A. We had Brighthouse for 25 years when we lived south of here. We had excellent service especially customer service. We now have Comcast. We have only had them for a little over 2 months and have had more problems in the short time we've had them than we had in 25 years with Brighthouse.
We are considering Century Link.

I had Brighthouse installed in November. I was only able to use it for a week before coming back north and will not be back down until Christmas. Here is my very limited opinion thus far.

It took a couple of service calls to get installed because there was something that was not terminated that was needed. After much frustration my wife contacted Lysander. He was great and was able to resolve the issue that day. I ordered the highest level of internet. 90Mbps. My testing yielded about 75Mbps but was completely acceptable if it stay that way. The TV so far has also been good. The only complaint I would have is the on screen guide and choice of channel numbers are ridiculous. Seems like nothing was planned in advance on the numbering system is is just a random mess. If you can get beyond that then no big deal.

Give Lysander a call. He will take care of you if he can.

Why do you need all that bandwidth?

Sabbo 12-10-2013 11:03 AM

I am a software designer and developer and will be performing many business functions remotely. I do a fair amount of transfer of information to my corporate offices. No other reason. Heck I don't hardly even browse the internet or seldom stream video. Sorry if I got off topic as was pointed out in a PM from KittyKat. Just was putting that information out there as incase you or others didn't get concerns resolved and was interested in other input.

We have Comcast here up north in the frozen tundra and also at our home in TV and you can always, always, make a 'deal' with these people regardless of which company it is. I know it's a pain to pick up the phone, listen to the prompts and have a coffee while your waiting to speak to a human being but I never voice a threat (I'm going to drop you like a bad habit and....) and merely ask for the promotion I am eligible for since I've been a faithful subscriber for a hundred years. I think I was told NO years and years ago, went to DISH and came back a few years later.
