Man arrested for plugging in his Electric Car while at a High School sports function
 

Heard on News today Georgia man was arrested for plugging in his Electric Car while attending High School sports function. He was arrested not ticketed for stealing estimated 5 cents of electricity from the School. WOW! something for you electric cart owner to think about :popcorn:while out and about looking for free plug in. After all 5 cents is 5 cents! which warrants arrest not ticket!:popcorn:

Now the probably other side of the story? The man probably had attended several sports functions and plugged his car in for several hours. Some body noticed this freeloader and turned him in. Course this somebody was no powerless Joe Blow off the street IMO if so he would probably been laughed off the phone from the dispatcher.

Yes the somebody who turned him in had to be VIP and didn't like him getting all this free energy to power his car. again we don't want any school tax payer to steal 5 cents plus from the school and that had to warrant an arrest put the freeloader in JAIL. I mean ticket totaling probably over $100 bucks is not enough for this Crime of the Century!:popcorn:

I guess it would be ok to steal a piece of candy from a store. I mean they are cheap, right? Sorry, stealing is stealing whether it is something worth five cents or five million dollars.

It could be that the gentleman who plugged in the cart had the mentality that it was just a few cents and could see no wrong in what he was doing. I wouldn't be surprised to hear that he argued with the police officer and, possibly, whoever reported him.

Yes, I was talking to you. You found it humorous, I guess. You also made it sound okay that the man was plugging in without permission. You obviously felt he should not have been arrested. As to finding a piece of candy for five cents, that's relatively easy -- I didn't say a candy bar, I said a piece.

If you go to many stores, you'll find bulk candies you can buy by the pound, so a five cent piece of candy is very possible (and, yes, I've seen folks grab a piece from there and I've considered it stealing as well).

And no where did I say you were the one stealing, just the one condoning theft. So, if you're going to shout at me, suggest you shout at me for the right thing.

I think the guy was guilty of the high crime of arrogance. In addition to the misappropriation of electrons, he had ignored warnings from the school that he was not allowed to use the tennis courts. It is possible that this tree hugger also brandished a Birkenstock at the police officer.

In other news, a Birmingham, Alabama woman shot and killed a fellow party goer who didn't get p1ssed off enough about Bama's loss to Auburn.

Is it possible that he knew he couldn't make it home with the batteries that might have been low, so he was desperate and took the chance of not getting caught.

That could never happen in TV. We are ever so tolerant of opposing team fans.

I confess. I was driving our electric cart and ran out of juice at the parking lot of the Lutheran Church on 466 and Morse. I plugged it in in their outlet to just get enough juice to get home. I didn't have my phone.


I hope that what I did later erased my debt and my sin.
I promise from now on to only drive our gas cart.
