Simple golf cart question

I am about to start looking for my first golf cart. Where can I get the best price for a Yamaha gas golf cart near the Villages. PM me f you don't wish to make a public recommendation. Also supporting information would be helpful I.E. we looked at so and so's store and the same cart was $500 less at this other place. Etc. Thanks in advance for any responses. We are looking for new or less than 2 years old.

The newer Yamaha gas carts are a good choice, as TV is getting to be a very big place. I can't really say where you can get the best price as you need to compare apples to apples, in terms of the same options, with your purchase.

How much do you plan to drive your golf cart daily? If you are doing 40 miles a day which is TV average, you might even consider an electric cart. You'll need to be cognizant of your battery charge, before heading out and about.

I would try the following two places:
1. Sta-Rite Carts. Ask for Frank as he is a TOTV member, (Frank7), and is very knowledable. 352.326.3100
2. The Villages Golf Cart store, for a new or slightly used gas Yamaha cart.
There prices seem to be reasonable for what you get. Expect to spend 8K, (used), to 12K new.

Good luck with finding what you want!!!

Google, Cunningham Golf Carts in Ky. - $6,295 for a 2014 EFI Gas Yamaha cart. They also deliver free to the Villages.

Take into consideration a lot places won't service what they don't sell.

Seems more and more Cart dealers outside The Villages, are giving services inside The Villages today. They come to your homes, like all other dealers that are in The Villages. My friend bought a Yamaha gas cart outside The Villages and saved almost 1700.00. That's a lot of money to save. Be interesting to see, if others have done the same?

I shopped all and was very happy with Carts and Clubs in OCALA. They service all the villages at your home. Price was about the same with a few more options.

The costs are about the same in the long run (if you factor in the service availability per an earlier poster). I think it really comes down to where you feel most comfortable.

I too bought my cart from Carts and Clubs based upon other posters recommendations. Carts and Clubs can do almost all work right in your driveway and I have always had great customer service with them.

The earlier poster is correct that you can get a cheaper prices, but at the risk of less than adequate service. The arguement can be made if a dealer is an authorized rep for Yamaha for example, why would they not service all Yamahas? I don't know if they are required to or not by the manufacturer, but I don't lose any sleep over it since I do get good service from C&C.

I also bought from Carts and Clubs. Very happy with cart. Be fair to yourself and look at the differnces in the sunbella design used. Other features as well.Great service!

Grandpa and Grandma's Village Buggies-nice compartments-you choose body color, fabric, rims, dash. High speed gears. You might add bright led headlight and seatbelts.

This is what I was going to say. You either choose a custom built reconditioned or a reconditioned cart off their floor either way you save money get a warranty get all the extras for less money Plus what great people

We also bought from Carts and Clubs. Better sunbrella design, better clutch system, more add ons included before we reached the price from the villages carts.
As previously stated, work is done at house when needed.

We were told by The Villages Carts salesperson, that although they are an authorized dealer and will repair any Yamaha cart, if you purchase elsewhere your cart will go to the back of the line and could take weeks to be repaired. One of the reasons we did not purchase there.

Also can't say enough about the cart we purchased from Grandpa and Grandma's and the service we have received from Scott and Vickie!

I'm not even there yet and I looked at carts at Carts and Clubs when we were visiting a couple of weeks ago. I was impressed with the extras they put on their cart. I'm short and I loved Yamaha's foot extender as I can never reach the peddle!

If anyone can talk my 89 year old mother into moving to our beautiful home in TV I would really appreciate it!

dotti105 12-13-2013 04:03 AM

We also looked at C&C and compared with TV carts.

I am 4'11" and the pedal extender at C&C will be a life saver for me. I asked about that option at TV store and they acted like there was no such thing. They have to know that there is, but they do not carry it, so they acted as if it did not exist as an option.

I also asked about windshield wipers as an option. Again, not offered.....

I think I will keep looking, but C&C and Grandpa & Grandmas buggies are still on my short list. We rented from G&G and they were great, and fast! ;-)

Well worth your time to check out cart and clubs in Ocala. They also have website. See the "cart and club advantage" . for example the sunbrella fits great without that flapping of a loose fit side. The Yamaha fuel injection gets approximately 65 mpg ( this may be annodotal but I fill up every 6 weeks whether I need it or not.) I can go anywhere in the Villages without concern if I can make it there. It depends on your needs and wants but mine fit the bill.
