That prison warden in Cool Hand Luke was the actor Strother Martin.

"That'll be the day" John Wayne to Jeffrey Hunter, Ward Bond and others in the classic '56 western, The Searchers (also the title of a song, That'll Be The Day by Buddy Holly who got that idea from the film)
