Best Rent-A-Car in The Villages?
 

Looking to rent a car in the villages for about a month. Airport rentals usually charge extra fees, so we're looking for local and reasonable. Anyone rent a car for a "long" (1 month or so) term here in The Villages?

You can rent from Enterprise and there is no drop-off charge for leaving in TV.

If you want the convenience, Hertz has an office at Spanish Springs and Enterprise is at Lake Sumter Landing. We have only rented one-way to the airport from those locations, so can't tell you about long term rental from those locations.
We do rent often when we travel, though. Rental rates change constantly, and are usually based on volume on a specific day. So it's best to do your research online and then call to see if they will give you a better deal. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't.
Regarding long term rentals: I recently heard an agent tell a customer that it was cheaper to rent a car week by week instead of a monthly rental, returning and getting a different car for the following week. Sometimes you really have to work all the angles.
