Two airlifted from CR466A following two-vehicle accident

This morning we had to be in Sumter Landing. I have NEVER seen driving like this in TV before. We were cut off by a gold/beige Mercury being driven by a woman at the roundabout entering Canal. She came so fast into the circle from the south on B.Vista that we knew she was not going to stop. We were already in the circle about to exit onto Canal when she literally cut in front of us.

After Lake Sumter, I stopped at Publix, Wedgwood Lane - what a zoo. I picked up what I wanted and went through the cash register. The cashier knows me and asked me how I was etc. etc., in a usual pleasant manner, and the woman behind me almost had a stroke, she was huffing and puffing over being kept waiting for two minutes .................. welcome to winter season in TV!

Busy, busy, busy......
 

We went out for a bit today as well and could not believe the amount of people everywhere. Of course, we went to get gas at 10:30 at the only gas station near us and turned around and left without getting gas as it was too busy to navigate. The roads were also very busy so we got what we had to and got off the roads!! I hope this isn't how busy it's going to be for the rest of the winter and people were just out and about more than usual because they stayed home and indoors for the holidays. Everyone we encountered was pleasant.

It took almost an hour to get to Sam's club from Arnold Palmers.

In the 10 years we have been here I can honestly say I have never been in traffic as today. I stopped by the Verizon store....1 1/2 hour wait...no thanx.

Coming back Rolling Acres to 466 was solid from 441 to 466.

I know it is Friday but this was a record. And to make it worse the absolute totally inconsiderate, rude, cut you off, flip you off crowd was a record breaker.

It is no surprise....none at all there are so many accidents....they are all taking the right away instead of giving.

There is no way TV would come close to being FL friendliest home town.....not as long as they are behind the wheel. Gives TV a bad rap.

Listen up every single person.


Drive carefully, no matter if you are honked at or flipped the bird. After all this craziness dies down, I want to count every one of your noses. Drive as if everyone else is crazy, because most of them are.


Boy HOWDY. It is wild out there.

There are twice as many people here as when we first bought, and they haven't widened 466 or 27/441. There are twice as many cars on the same amount of pavement, including Morse and Buena Vista, so there are obviously going to be traffic problems. As they sell more homes, it will only get worse. Drive defensively.

I try my hardest to stay off 441/27 with everything I've got. It is crazy out there and as Gracie said "BE CAREFUL". There is nothing you need or any place you need to go that is worth risking your life for. And as my dear father use to say "Do as I say, not as I do"!

Totally agree. There are twice the number of cars on 441/27 now that Stonecresters have to use their cars to get to shopping, medical care etc, instead of their golf carts as they did previously.

If residents stuck to their own neighborhoods to shop, it would relieve the traffic on Morse Blvd north. How are ambulances rushing to TV hospital going to get through bumber to bumper two lane traffic? It could be a matter of life or death.

We also wondered if the freezing weather didn't cause people to drive their car rather than their golf cart, resulting in even more cars on the road. (We would be two of the wimps who took the car today!)

Sometime around 12:30 PM today, we were headed to Leesburg and came upon the 466A accident before any police or responders arrived.

It look like a bad one...a flipped over truck in street after a trail of parts in the street!

Figured some injury.

Turned around and went via Mirco Racetrack Road.

Oh now, janmcn! Do you honestly want us to believe that 441/27 traffic has increased because of Stonecresters? Where do you expect the historic area villages residents to stick to their neighborhoods to shop - just at la plaza grande? Ambulances can ride the shoulder of the roads with lights and sirens! You were joking and forgot a smilie - right?

The more the merrier? Are you kidding? Get used to it. It will only get worse. Don't think the roads were planned for this much traffic.

Twice the number, just from residents of Stonecrest? My,my that seems a streatch.

My husband and I went out separately today and both nearly avoided an accident in the roundabout at St. Charles and BV due to people going three-quarters around in the outside lane. I've never seen so many cars on BV coming north from 466A to that roundabout. It was impossible to keep people next to you from entering the roundabout at the same time you did.

Wait until you get down here, if you're not here already, and see the number of cars pouring out of the Stonecrest gate and turning south. Avoid that portion of 441/27 at all cost.

Historic area residents have more shopping available that is either golf cart accessible or a short car drive than any other area of The Villages; Target, Sam's, Home Depot, Lowe's, Beall's, too many to mention, with no need to drive far on public roads. Other sections of The Villages should be so lucky.

Folks at Caroline gate are nearly trapped trying to get out on Morse with the increased traffic going north and south. I may never see Pooh again.
