Default Best Player to Have Never Won a Major

We haven't had this discussed in a long time. I think that Sergio was the leader until he won the Masters two years ago. So who is it now?

I think that Matt Kuchar has to be in the mix. He seems to be in the hunt in every major.

Who else do you think?

Counting only those who don't still have much of a chance...Lee Westwood and Steve Stricker.

Rickie Fowler has come so close. He will win a major...

I think so too.

A lot of people would argue, given that it usually has the most competitive/highest rated field...The Players should be considered the 'fifth major.'

So at least Fowler has that going for him.

My choices were for the ones who have probably passed their primes and don't have as good of a chance of winning one now...as they did during their prime.

If we're talking about younger, still active players, I would add these names to the list of those I would pick to eventually win at least one major.

- Jon Rahm
- Bryson DeChambeau
- Hideki Matsuyama
- Tony Finau
- Patrick Cantlay
- Gary Woodland
- Xander Schauffele
- Daniel Berger
- Branden Grace
- Thomas Pieters

And those (IMHO) that have the skills/record, but are probably getting close to running out of time:

- Matt Kuchar
- Paul Casey
- Lee Westwood
- Steve Stricker

Accordingvto the official world golf rankings as of April 7, Bryson DeChambeau is ranked No. 6. So, he is the best player to have never won a major, because all of the top 5 players have won a major.
