The Masters is being aired on ESPN from 3pm to 7:30 pm. Anyone wanting to watch the tournament earlier in the day has to have ESPN Plus, which is a pay to watch type of thing. Tomorrow (Friday) is most likely the same thing.

Masters.com picks up a portion of ESPN plus feed. Why you see a banner on internet when the other goes to commercial

Apparently, DIRECTV is broadcasting 5 holes of the tournament in 4K. But, if you don't have DIRECTV, or want to watch the other 13 holes in 4K, you are out of luck. It seems kind of ridiculous to broadcast a major event like that and not use the latest technology, which is actually 10 years old.

Masters.com It is free. There is coverage of holes 4,5,6, amen corner, and holes 15, 16. Also has the “featured groups” and you can follow individual players. Much better coverage than ESPN.

Are you sure? As I understand it, the live TV coverage is split between ESPNHD and CBS. The Golf Channel covers the tournament on their "Live from the Masters" program, but they can only report on the tournament status and show recorded shots. They cannot show live tournament coverage. If you want to watch the tournament live, you need ESPNHD and CBS, or watch it on the internet.

I think it was a glich in the system with xfinity. Around 1pm we could not get it and by 5 when we got home we were able to get on ESPN with no problems

Stream with YouTube TV
I cut the cable several years ago; I stream all my viewing these days. Less than $75/mo and no regrets, record thousands of shows and more.
I do have an outdoor antenna also for the occasional internet loss and that’s got plenty of shows, just can’t record over the air programming unless you invest in a not so cheap recorder. |

I don’t know what you mean by “pay only”, but I watched it yesterday all day on ESPN for free.
