Drove by 5 Guys today about 5:00 and it was open and the place was packed,

where on 441 did you see the sign for 5 guys? Love it. There is one on sr 200 in ocala just west of the turnpike.

Went there today about 2:15 and there was still a long line for the lunch crowd. Clearly the management wants to make it's mark right from the start. I couldn't believe that at the end of the traditional lunch crowd there were still at least 20 Five Guys staff working to keep everything moving smoothly and staying clean.
I had the traditional cheeseburger and fries. The food was very good and certainly at the high end of the fast food chain. The tables and floors were surprisingly clean considering the constant turn over of clientèle. I had only one negative observation and that had to do with the fries. I got a "regular" order (I think the cost was ~2.59 and it was HUGE. This was no simple cup of fries. The bottom of the paper bag was full as well as the cup. This was far more than I could eat and I felt guilty about the waste of so much food as I threw half of them away. Overall, my impression was positive and I'll certainly be going back. There's no place better for a burger and fries in TV that I'm aware of. |
They are located on the south side of the intersection of SR 25, Rolling Acres Road, and 441/27. This is the Best Buy shopping center and is across from Target. It's also directly opposite Home Depot.

Well, Bogie Shooter, I was at least half right. Do I get extra points for mentioning the landmarks in the area? I do know how to get there.
Put a smile in your voice. (< ; |

I don't get it. I went there this evening and encountered little that would make it better than the average fast food burger place. The burger patties were cooked to death, just like McD and BK. As another person note, the fries were not up to McD's standards; and the peanuts - Perhaps it is just me, but watching kids run up and grab handfuls, dropping most back into the box, does not strike me as appetizing.
Until we get a Red Robin here in the Villages, I stick with Glenview for burgers - they will cook them to your desired degree of doneness. |
BBQMan--- I tend to agree with you. I haven't eaten at the one here, but have eaten at a Five Guys. The hamburger was okay, but the fries couldn't compare to McDonalds, in my opinion.
|
How does Five Guys compare to Shake and Steak?
|
It is a matter of taste. I like Steak & Shake burgers and fries better. Less expensive also at Steak & Shake.
|
Yes, it is a matter of taste. Luv the burgers but not those "skinny" fries at Steak and Shake
