Yes. Oakwood is another and many more

As far as I can recollect, based on the magnitude of threads published on this forum about restaurants golf cart accessibility has never been a real issue. people freely travel outside the bubble and beyond to find a good restaurant.

Is it possible that full-time residents are more willing to travel outside The Bubble?
As Seasonal residents, we are always dazzled by the number of restaurants available by golf cart.
I think it's over 80 restaurants.

I would think so. We've been here full time for 16 years. Sometimes it's nice to take a little road trip for something different to eat and some different scenery.

Good Restaurants are In and Away from the Villages

We will celebrate our sixth anniversary as full-time residents of TV Saturday. In that time we have eaten at least once in 260 different restaurants not counting fast-food outlets in and within a day trip out and back (average distance 25.9 miles) to the villages. At least 33 of those are now out of business. We have our favorites, as does everyone, and we have a few which have been listed on this thread as favorites by others which we will not patronize again even if invited by our best friends for a free dinner. Everyone has their own life experiences and flavor expectations. Ours have been influenced by living in Thailand, the Philippines, United Kingdom, and Germany for a total of ten years and traveling in many other countries during those years. Stay close if that is your thing and enjoy a number of good restaurants. Venture out occasionally and enjoy many more good meals and an occasional disappointment.

Headed to the Fingerlakes this week and looking forward to salt potatoes, Skaneateles, and Doug's. We have a house and family (grandkids) about 5 miles from there!

I'm jealous. Miss Doug's.

Bon appetite

Rosalie's was still there and going strong when we moved in November. Great food, but very noisy.
Lasca's is doing great, I don't think Jimmy is doing much cooking any more since he discovered golf and piloting helicopters

Rosalie was my girlfriend in 6th grade but her family moved to Florida the following year where her father then brother built their vast restaurant empire. Good family . Miss Doug's miss Lasca's

Glad to see you back on the forum.

I take that trip usually twice a week for rides from 30 minutes outside the bubble to several hours. But when a place is that close I want to get there by golf cart.

Ha ha, you're too funny! We drove by there today. There were cars in the parking lot. Maybe Bonnie knows. She's been to every soft opening in the tri-county area!

Yup, Christopher (Sr.) opened up today.
They have a huge menu too.
Prime Rib on Kimmelweck?
Haven't seen that in years!
It's posted on The Villages Gourmet Club's website HERE.
Good luck to them.

They are open. Went there twice and food was excellent. Service a little slow the first night, but it was the day that they opened. Last night had the Greek platter. Was very good as was the service.

My wife just stopped by Athens to pick up a menu and it is appealing. I suspect this place is going to do well.

Skip,
They served that at the old location, good as any I ever had in western NY.

Have not stopped in yet, but the sign says Athena. Probably could not re-open as Athens.

wjoyc56 07-20-2016 03:03 PM

Not anymore. It was totally gutted and redone. Just beautiful! They even got rid of that cruddy carpeting and put it beautiful tile. We were impressed.

wjoyc56 07-20-2016 03:07 PM

Because this place is owned by Elena. He doesn't speak to her.

Jima64 07-20-2016 05:10 PM

Wonder if they will have a loyalty card program?

Kahuna32162 07-20-2016 06:09 PM

Had our dinner there tonight. Food was great, same cook in the kitchen. Service was a little erratic, but our waitress was brand new and trying very hard. Spoke to the owner and she said things will only get better. We believe her!
