I reposted my earlier experience from 2/13 because we agree that Augustine’s 1812 appears to have lost their way. If so what a shame because it’s a very pretty restaurant. On a Saturday afternoon at 5 pm Augustine’s had no bottles of either Yuengling or Sam Adams.
This to me sounds more like a Managment problem. The owners may not be involved on a daily basis. If the people who own the Lighthouse restaurant own this, I would go to the the Lighthouse and ask to speak to one of the owners or one of the two daughters. They are all nice people and I am sure they would listen. These people come from Massachusetts and know what good Italian and seafood is. Go talk to them, I’m sure they would listen and correct these things.

That’s the deal on a holiday.....not fair, but the way it is...sadly enough...overpriced, overcrowded, not enough help...

The lighthouse is terrible and expensive only the the view is good, so if you want the view.. take a walk on the boardwalk ITS FREE.

Couldn’t agree with you more. Nothing about the place was good. Poor service, rude hostess and lousy food. It all goes back to the Management. Place won’t last.

I have eaten there many times and the food is not bad but you to have understand what kind of restaurant you are going to. If you are looking for a quite upscale restaurant this is not your place. The Lighthouse is loud and is a place people go to have drinks, have fun and get something to eat. For many people this is exactly what they are looking for. If you want quite, peaceful, and upscale go to some place like Lopez.

We love Bonefish Grill. Not a high end restaurant but have always had good food and good service. Also a great place for a small group of people to get together and share a bunch of appetizers. Sorry it's not in one of the town squares but still in the Villages just off 466.

If you're looking for good restaurants, you pretty much have to leave the bubble. The Chop House and Blue Fin are OK most of the time, but everything else is average or worse.

Ate at the lighthouse years ago. So unimpressed that we never went back. Ate at Augustine’s recently and the food not up to snuff, so will not return. Most restaurants are pretty ordinary and you have to look far and wide to find a special one. Blue Fin has been good and so has Chop house. Otherwise you got to leave to get good food. Turner’s in Leesburg is terrific.

Demshar owns Cheers at Stonecrest. The fried chicken is amazing.

Try the new Prima Italian Steak House if you want good food and service. Old Ricciardi's in Brownwood. We liked it. Sorry to hear about Augustine.

I can’t believe with 25 replies that no one suggested speaking to the manager about the disappointing experience. I was not looking for a comp, an excuse, or an apology. So after a disappointing experience I’d rather just leave without causing a scene. As others have opined, I vote with my feet. If management cares they can tune into TOTV to learn what the average joe thinks about dining at their restaurant both good and bad. I will not suggest that Carrabbas is an upscale restaurant but they seem to get it right. We’ve been eating there since 2005 and have never been disappointed.

I agree. Ate there years ago and I see the food and service has not improved. Never go there again.

I am sorry for your experience. I guess I don't think that as a romantic restuarant to begin with. Please realize that articles like this are not good for the restuarant. We have eaten there and had exactly the opposite. Fantastic food and service.
