I drove up 441/27 today and noticed the Ay! Jalisco restaurant in Leesburg has closed. It sure did not last very long.

I have been to the Ay! Jalisco at Spanish Springs and it does a brisk business even though the food, in my opinion, is bad.

Restaurants have to put out good food for customers to return.

It's been closed for awhile now...maybe a month or better. So sad to see that. A friend said another restaurant had been in there before, so thinking it's just a bad location.

That building has been numerous restaurants. Nothing seems to be able to make it there.

Gourmet Club's website showed it "closed" back in November. So is the House of Japan. Too bad.

I loved that restaurant. The interior and the hand carved and painted furniture was beautiful. I loved the food, but can't eat mexican every night unfortunately. I do feel the location did them in. It's a shame.

Ay! Jalisco was closed when we returned to TV in mid October. Too bad, that was our favorite Mexican restaurant. Food, service and prices were always good. I asked at The Villages location what had happened at the Leesburg site. They said they just didn't have the business to continue. Now we have to find another place for Mexican. We try to avoid The Villages restaurants for dinner during January, February and March.

I gave the location in SS a try ... once. Marginal at best and Tex-Mex an't all that hard to make.

Try San Juan Mexican Restaurant on 14th St in Leesburg. It's by far our favorite.

They could close the one in Spanish Springs too and it wouldn't be a great loss. Is there another mexican place inmor near the Villages that has good food?

We took Mountaineer Girl's advice and had dinner tonight at San Juan in Leesburg. It was very good. We'll definitely be going back.

Try El Toreo in Ocala. It is on silver springs blvd. good food. You can find coupons in the coupon books that are given free at some stores.

We ate at the one in Spanish Springs last year and thought it was great. We are Texans and hard to please with Mexican food. We ate there again last month and the entire experience was horrid from the service to the wait time for our food and when the food came it was terrible. Not sure what changed.

Hubby and I had the shrimp, beef and chicken fajitas for two last night for dinner. I could not find the beef or the chicken with the overwhelming amount of onions and peppers smothering everything. Don't get me wrong...the onions, peppers and the Fajita sauce were delicious and perfectly prepared but the amount of beef and chicken was not up to what I'm used to at other Mexican restaurants.

My favorite Mexican restaurant in central New Jersey serves beef Fajitas with the beef as the main part of the dish. The beef is seasoned to perfection and is a large cut of beef which is sliced at an angle and is cooked medium with plenty of pink in the meat. Not so with the Fajitas we had last night at Ay! Jalisco. The beef was sliced so tiny, there was no room for any pink in the center of the meat. The chicken was sliced very small also and there was so little of it. Very disappointed.
