Default Backyard Boy's Barbeque

Last Saturday night, I had some of the best barbeque in a long time. Backyard Boy's Barbeque in Mt. Dora. I had the all you can eat rib special, St. Louis ribs, for $11.95. The ribs were not greasy and were prepared the way I like em, dry smoked with very little sauce added. You add the sauce at the table. The boys have some pretty good sauces to go with the ribs.

On my next visit, I will try the all you can eat meat sampler. The menu says you can sample all their meat offerings, sliced pork, chopped pork, brisket, turkey and smoked sausage. all for $11.95.

All you barbeque officiadoes, give this place a try. The drive is a little long, but the food is delicious.

Here is the web link to them...

going by the website, they are on 441 going in to Mt. Dora. Go past the Dodge Dealer and you should be able to see them. They will be before the redlight at 44b.

Gemorc,
On you recommendation, I drove out there one rainy afternoon last week. Pretty long drive, but I do go to Ocala for fast food chicken, and I used to drive from DC to Charlottesville, VA for a Bojangles ham biscuit. so . . . I got a pound of pork ribs and 1/2 lb of sliced beef. The ribs were very good and worth the trip. I was a bit disappointed in the beef. I'd have preferred brisket and they use a bottom round roast or something similar. It was okay, but not brisket.

I'll go back, likely soon. I was to try the baby backs. A couple sides looked real good. And the prices were, I thought, very reasonable.

Selling ribs by the pound??? Yeah, raw in the supermarket or at the butcher, but not in restaurants. Is that a regional thing? I'm used to ordering a slab, short end, or long end. Other areas call it a rack and don't speak slab. What's with ribs by the pound?

I've never seen this in a restaurant but I do think it is a good idea, you'll always get the same amount................GN
