HB

Any type of cakes go....they all sound good to me

Can you tell I'm still dieting? Anything with chocolate and sugar sounds tempting right now.

Re: Best Crabcakes Anywhere?

Bright that is so unfair. Tell Mr. Bright that he can not practice until my house is done. I don't have time for cake making right now and he might get better at it than me....NOT! The bet is still on, the challenge stands...I better find my recipe....darn I bet I packed it.

Re: Best Crabcakes Anywhere?

Nonie, Lets put a bag on his head! "Village of the Damned"-I've seen it several times. My hubby rents all the zombie, monster, creature movies ever made. When netflix delivers, I get on the computer! HB I may have a copy of the original Beefcakes in an email I will send to you. PM your email address if you want a looky!! Crab cakes? hmmm guess I hijacked the thread, sorry!

renielarson 05-19-2008 09:44 PM

Re: Best Crabcakes Anywhere?

I've solved the problem! Scroll back and look again at Mr. Scary Village of the Damned...lol

Hyacinth Bucket 05-19-2008 09:57 PM

Re: Best Crabcakes Anywhere?

Rok thank you. No scary eyes on the original. I can testify to that.

Bright perhaps you could make a circle about 1/10th that size and put it on the original beefsteak. He was definitely not scary looking at all. While you are at it instead of white make it flesh tone. ;)

If it is flesh tone I do not think anyone can object. That is what they do on television.

I just happened to look at this crabcake topic because I am bored, not because I like crab cakes. :cop: Quick, topicop, over here!

This has got to be the most hijacked thread I've ever seen. You girls have no dignity. Any excuse to salivate over pictures of naked men. Shame on you all. And where can I see the guy without his bathing suit? lovehorse

Just Susan 05-21-2008 11:23 PM

Re: Best Crabcakes Anywhere?

Check your email sweetie. He is waiting for you there. ;)

Yowser Susan .. thank you. Nothing like getting a naked guy in your e-mail to cheery you up! :clap2:

Just Susan 05-22-2008 03:04 AM

Re: Best Crabcakes Anywhere?

On it's way Bright.
Bare, he is not naked. He is wearing a very nice face and a very modest towel. The pecs aren't bad either.

Barefoot 05-22-2008 04:47 PM

Re: Best Crabcakes Anywhere?

Susan, I noticed he wasn't naked! I just wanted to make the other girls think they were really missing out on something special. 040 And it must have worked, I had 17 PMs requesting that I e-mail them the naked picture. ;)

renielarson 05-22-2008 09:22 PM

Re: Best Crabcakes Anywhere?

Here is the one and only, ORIGINAL Beefcakes that got censored and deleted after Susan posted him. Let's see if he gets censored and deleted again!

renielarson 05-22-2008 09:28 PM

Re: Best Crabcakes Anywhere?

Drum roll please.....

Here's the naked one...with a little editing from me...lol

He's only a thumbnail so get out your magnifying glasses. He may be censored and deleted soon, too.

Hyacinth Bucket 05-22-2008 09:50 PM

Re: Best Crabcakes Anywhere?

Bright you did it!!!!!!!!!!!

Congratulations - I still prefer the picture before it was :edit:

I think the title of this thread should changed to BEST CHEEKS or BEST BEEF CAKES.

Great job of editing. And lucky for all of us we will never know if his eyes are scary or not.

Gee, I was gonna do a post about how someone said the crab cakes at Bonefish Grill were really good but I think I like the beefcake subject MUCH better (especially since I'm allergic to the crab ones)!

Best crab cakes in TV

A while back several TOTV members were going to do a search of all the restaurants in the area that served crab cakes and share their review with all of us. Would love to hear more comments about who has the best.

Just Susan 09-23-2008 07:17 PM

Marianne,
The hands down vote by the majority in our hunt for the best Crab Cakes was Ruby Tuesday. Shocking that a Chain could out do everyone else but they did and they do.

Arnold Palmer had a good sauce. Nancy Lopez was right up there, Tierra Del Sol was horrible in every catagory. I think we voted that the frozen cakes we got at the grocery were better than Tierra.

Actually the frozen cakes from Sam's Club are pretty good...as good as most of the restaurants we went to. Tom and I had Crab Cakes about 8 times while we were in TV in April. A different place everytime.

Lighthouse, Arnold Palmer and Nacy Lopez share 2nd place each winning in various catagories. Ruby Tuesday is the only one that had it all.

marianne237 09-27-2008 08:04 AM

crab cakes at Ruby Tuesday

The last place I would have tried was Ruby Tuesday. They seem to have an attitude about many things, and IMHO I find their service/wait people lacking.

Our last time there was with neighborhood ladies for lunch. I objected to a price of $11.00 for a lunch salad from the buffet, and management said "sorry" but that was their lunch time policy.

I know of folks who have gone there and several members of a group are served while others wait, and wait, and wait for their meals, or the food doesn't show up and then they still receive an inflated bill.

This restaurant as you can tell, is not high on my personal list of favorites.

The best, by far, crab cakes I have had were in a little place in Ozello FL. The name of the place is "the Yankee Skipper". No filling and everything done by hand. Ozello is half way between Crystal River and Homossassa Springs, so if you are enjoying the Gulf coast this could be an idea for a good restuarant. Open Thurs-Sat only and not in the summer. It is approximately 48.6 miles from 301/466 intersection.
