I second Belleveiw Pizza, we ate there when I grew up in Ocala in the late 70's when they only owned half the building.

Now they own the entire building and are still going strong.

I think....on a good day, Sams pizza is ok as well....from the deli...not take and bake. its sometimes hit and miss.....but when its good it reminds me of new england pizza.

I have never been to Belleview Pizza but I will try it. Locally, my favorite is Sam's Club and let them make it fresh.

Mellow Mushroom in Mt Dora is excellent. On 441. A little pricey ($20-ish) but well worth the drive (45 minutes from Brownwood area).

We love Mellow Mushroom but hate the drive. We used to eat at the one near Gulf Shores, AL a lot.

Best price per pound!

This is a recommendation based on price, not quality or taste

Depending on where you grew up or had pizza you acquire taste. IMO There is no really good pizza in villages. They all suck to my tastes. Heck, I had hot pocket that tasted better than most pizza around here. IMO for chain pizza compare all chains to godfathers restaurant pizza, not the gas station frozen pizza that godfathers turned into. I Iike thick pizza, no pizza IMO compares godfathers, they piled it on and you got your money worth. Most pizza around here are so thin. Makes little Cesar's look good. This topic is opinionated like where the best Italian or Mexican restaurants that pops up also.

Grew up in NYC and will always like a good thin pizza but by far the best deep dish pizza I've had is from Buddy's. Miss them.
