Trouble is (for the Villages) that the "big anchors" on the Square are closed except for Margaritaville....creates a difficult perception which as you know can and often becomes reality...:beer3:

As more and more new businesses (restaurants etc.) open up in TV areas outside of the the town squares, it no doubt makes it more competitive and difficult for those in the squares. Especially if their expenses are higher.

As others have said, if they put out a good product, they normally stay around though.

I heard a RUMOR that Tavern on the Green from NY and Brennan's of New Orleans are opening restaurants in SS -----

Okay, not really a rumor. I made it up. But it's as reliable as any other story. It may actually be at LSL.

Maybe that's how some rumors get started-someone dreaming about it. But wouldn't it be fun to see Tavern on the Green selling frozen margaritas on the square, two for one!

Oh, well, just dreaming. Right now I have to go outside. I think I hear someone pouring the foundation for a new Krispy Kreme in my backyard! lol

I'm sorry to see any resturant in the village close. This means someone has lost sweat and money. There probably are just too many resturants for the villages to support. With this economy they cant be supported.

Not really too many restaurants, but ill conceived business planning by the entrepreneurs that had dreams of their own business. The first year operation of any start up risks the highest failure rate. But that's the dream of many, to take the risk and own their own business. Been there and done it.
