Default Cane Garden Country Club

Thought I'd give my critique about dinner at Cane Garden last evening. We were seated immediately with choice of indoor or outdoor seating, granted it was a Wednesday evening but this is busy season and we arrived at 6:30pm. We chose outdoor and watched the last traces of beautiful color in the sky. Dinner was very leisurely, we were never rushed. We shared the fried green tomato appetizer which was very good, a nice thin coating and enough romalade sauce. We each had a Ceaser Salad, was nice and fresh with just the right amount of dressing. We each decided to each order a pizza and share. They were made very well with a nice crispy thin crust, just the way I like it. Hubby likes a heavier crust but was satisfied. He ate my last piece of pie because I thought I'd try dessert for a change. I was a bit disappointed as they all seemed very "hearty" and the ones I saw wander by were quite large. A lighter fare would be appreciated. I decided to skip dessert. My only negative comment would be a request to consider the dinner music. Listening to "Hang Down Your Head Tom Dooley" sort of took away from the ambiance, maybe they should consider more white noise. For that meal and 2 beers, the cost was a little over $40 including tip. We'll go back again. The menu looks great, especially the appetizers!

So it sounds like "appetizers and desserts" next time, right?

Pizzas sure have gotten expensive!

It was only a few years ago (50) that we used to get a large cheese and sausage delivered from IC Pizza for $3 plus a quarter tip.

Nice review, Scrapple. Thanks. I've never had the pizza, but we like Cane Gardens too.

We have not any problems at Cane Garden since we have been going there. Took guests there with no issues. Hope my review remains the same. Can't say the same for Glenview!!!

We've enjoyed Cane Garden Country Club, too.

Let me get this straight; you're concerned because the desserts are too BIG?!! Note to Cane Garden: don't change that until after next time I'm there!!!

If you're ever in the mood for onion rings, hubby and I think that Cane Garden has the best ones around.
