For some reason they all seem to be bad. I go other places and most are good, some really good. Here they are not, just all bad. My alternative is Bamboo Bistro which is Asian Fusion but has some good traditional options.

The longer I live here the more I'm getting accustomed to what seemed to be Alpo when we got here. That being said. Koyame is Great, and the small place Chengs near the Walmart off 466 is very good also and the service is fantastic. Your really going to have to test the waters yourself I think. Good Luck.

LOL - DH and I just had this discussion recently and said the same thing. Almost. I still long for the plethora of small, family-owned ethnic restaurants in Bay Ridge Brooklyn. A quick phone call and we could have the best Chinese, Japanese, Italian, Indian, Pizza, Mediterranean, etc., etc. delivered! But there is no way we would trade The Villages lifestyle for it.

There isn’t a good one, let alone a best one.

Koyame is very, very good. It's the best I've had around here.

I can't believe I've read 13 posts and have seen no mention of Bamboo Bistro. While technically not a "Chinese" restaurant, Bamboo Bistro serves Asian fusion cuisine, which includes Chinese food, and also includes other regional cuisines from Asia. It has nice ambiance, excellent service, and really good food. It's located near Target, just across the street from the Watts Golf store (formerly Jim's Golf). I traveled all over Asia on business for over three decades, and Bamboo Bistro is my go-to place for Asian food in The Villages.
