Months ago you wrote a very negative review of this restaurant, the duck, I believe. Why would you return, especially on your birthday for fish takeout?

It was the same story

We found that most of the dishes at Koyame look good but are bland and tasteless.

Lauranap 04-30-2018 08:05 PM

Koyame is pretty good. I find the food in most Chinese restaurants in this area to be bland. Koyame's food is nicely seasoned.

Chinese, like Italian, is very subjective. In both cases you are not eating "authentic". It's Chinese American or Italian American, not the way it's prepared in the actual countries. The best Italian food I've ever eaten has been in Italy. Likewise the best Chinese food I've ever eaten was in Beijing. In both cases, it was nothing like what you find in the U.S.

Having said that, I find Koyame to be very good ( not as bland as others) but still searching for good Italian.

I am agreeing with you. I keep trying it because it is so convenient but it is just missing deep flavor.

Try to look into the kitchen and you may never eat out at any asian place.

They call it...

It is Asian, not Japanese. I had General Tso's chicken there and it was excellent...that is certainly not Japanese ! I think they do have Japanese as well as Thai etc there though.

Dirty kitchens exist everywhere and are not confined to ethnic restaurants. The McDonalds on 466A was sited by the health department a year or so ago and I believe closed for a day. If you dislike Asian food, that is fine. Is it necessary to disparage all Asian restaurants because of kitchen issues because you do ? Most I suspect in Florida and elsewhere are well run with high sanitation standards. Would they be in business all throughout the United States if this was not the case ?

I've always questioned if General Tso's family is getting their royalties cut !

Cheng's on 466! Great service & food.

tomwed 05-07-2018 08:26 PM

If most of the Chines Restaurants are questionable I wonder if PF Chang is looking at our area. The closest one I think is 45 miles away.

They may be soon. They are currently represented by his brother, a military attorney, General Tsu.

He is an experienced attorney. In Little Neck v Cherry Stone he successfully represented Little Neck in Small Clams Court.

Unfortunately his client refused to give him any remuneration and General Tsu was quoted as saying "I should have know better. After all he is just being shellfish."

What a crabby response for someone solely responsible! Perhaps he drank the 5th?

I thought something smelt fishy. But they are doing nothing about it—just floundering. However, I hear he liked Lawrence Whelk.

We ordered take out this afternoon from Chengs, and both of our meals were very good, as were the soups and egg rolls.
