You go there to meet or make friends, have some (cheap) drinks, watch some sports, listen to the entertainment out on the porch. You go there as u are, with no pretensions. It is folly to compare it to fine dining, or a nice restaurant that happens to serve various levels of alcohol. I like it for what it is, and don;t wish it to be in another category.

I could not have said it better. A bar that serves food rather than a restaurant that serves drinks.

I don't know why a dirty floor is ok in a restaurant.

I don't consider peanut shells on a floor "dirty".

Peanut shells, mixed with other things on a floor, is dirty.

I personally find Cody's (at least the one @ LSL) to be to restaurants/bars, what Tire Choice at Colony is...to good auto repair shops.

Most people don't know what the similarity is between tire shops & restaurants--in simple terms they both stink, unless you have a point of comparison

Don't they clean the floor at least once per day when they are not open for business? Don't they start their day with no shells on the floor? That's all I ask of them. I would imagine if spills happen during business hours, the spill is cleaned up.

One can only hope.
