I know a lot of people seem to love to hate Cody's, but their Brownwood location is far and away the best place around for food, friendly service, fun and dancing, especially when Mark Seymour is playing. I'm told they do not plan to reopen until they can utilize 75% to 100% of the facility and that they are not filing for bankruptcy. This is from a reliable source.

I believe they will open when they can sit and serve 75% compactly.

Of the 3 Cody's LSL is the best, Brownwood & Mulberry are in a dead heat for the cream of the crap--tried each once & never went back, bar staff on another planet we had one drink & split--both places did not have enough vodka of the brand we like to serve a second drink--they were too busy socializing with each other to take care of customers

Cody's is still trying to catch all the bugs. Bankruptcy will be best thing for the residents!

Would be a lot cleaner and healthier--the managers of these restaurants don't have a clue--

Codys
I'd like to see the seafood restaurant come back to where Codys is in LSL. Does anyone remember the name? Something like Up the Creek. I always had a good meal there.

It was Up the Creek, and was owned by the current Codys owner Allen Musikantow.

Their carrot cake is the best around, IMHO. YUM!

Cody's owner stated that the three restaurants needed at least a 75 percent occupancy be profitable as they are a live entertainment dine in establishment. That's when he will look at reopening. Perhaps as with Rose Plantation his employees are making more money on the combined unemployment check.

I would be very careful about trashing a business without knowing the facts. It might come back to bite you.
