The hubby and I used to really like it, but in recent years the quality has gone by the wayside. Let’s hope they revamp the food they sell along with the logo, or it will be just like Denny’s and IHOP - yuck!

If it were just the logo change, people would probably not be calling it woke.

There are other factors.

In 2023, Cracker Barrel posted a social media image of a rainbow-colored rocking chair to celebrate Pride Month. They also sponsored Nashville Pride in 2024.

In addition, they still promote DEI policies and they have received a high score on the Human Rights Campaign’s Corporate Equality Index.

Rather than focus on woke issues, they should probably improve the quality of the food and focus on prices.

You have to know your customer.

Yep.

Just ask Bud Light, Target, Disney....

If you in effect abandon the values of your customer base in pursuit of something else, no matter just what that "something else" might be or how much you purport to value it, odds are you'll pay a financial price. It has happened too many times to just dismiss it out-of-hand.

My primo example of that? All the blown-out-of-proportion "reporting" and "articles" over the years about the supposed swinging lifestyle at TV. We who live here might roll our eyes about it knowing it's dumb but, I assure you, plenty of people elsewhere in the USA think it's true.

FAKE NEWS....every day is jam-packed with it.

You're comparing apples to oranges.

Whether or not the "swinging lifestyle" exists in TV, is a factual question.

Whether or not CrackerBarrel is trying to be more "woke", is a perception/sociology question, which by it's nature, is an opinion. In the case of CrackerBarrel, it's an perception held by millions, which by it's nature, makes it credible.

I wish people weren't so hung up what occurs in their isolated world, that they fail to see the big giant world out there, that's moving at breakneck speed ... & much of it happening in the digital world. Instead, some are content to just classify things they don't understand or know about, as "Fake News" .

If you're not getting news from Instagram, X/Twitter, TikTok, Reddit or YouTube, you're usually going to be days behind, if not more. Where do you think the more traditional News providers are getting most of their news?
