Hi,
Does anyone know of any restaurant or churches in the area that are having an all you can eat Friday Fish Fry during Lent? Going to see my Dad down at the Villages in a couple weeks and would like to take him to one.

McCalls Tavern at the Spanish Springs lanes has a AUCE FF all the time. Orange Blossom CC has one too. I've had both and they're ok. There's probably others and I know there's a couple off the reservation.
Nothing like a Milwaukee FF though where there's probably 100 on any give Friday in lent.

Capt Bells in Fruitland Park has AUCE flounder most nights.

Have tried Capt. Bells in Fruitland Park twice and was sick twice. Won't try them again. And, at such a low price, what they advertise as flounder or grouper may not be that at all.

That surprises me. We have eaten there many times (only flounder) and have never been sick or had a bad meal. Groups of my neighbors go with us and like it also. Maybe it's the oil or something else that you have a reaction to. We ran down for lunch today and it was delicious. We both had the flounder as usual. It's definitely not a fancy place..just a very casual fish place. I think the hush puppies are great and the fish has never appeared to be anything but flounder to me.
