Right in my shopping strip!..Drove(Publixs) by today for a look-see, no activity, construction, signage, nothing to suggest the forth coming of Culver's....

For the folks not familiar...you will like it or you won't. It's a fastfood restaurant but different, so hard to describe it. It bases itself beyond the food to good, friendly service in a clean environment.

I'd say it's far better than Dairy Queen! So think the location will be fine. Hope they have more than one location here!

graciegirl 09-20-2017 02:54 PM

I like Culvers. I like Bob Evans. I used to like Bill Gnapps. All good center of the country cooking. Farm style, clean, well run. Kinda homey and nice with wonderful staff and good managers.

You two are talking about two different things, Culvers has a delicious cod sandwich and fish fry. They also have a great walleye platter. I am looking forward to both.

Can't find a good Wisconsin fish fry around here. Perhaps Culvers cod fish fry will satisfy my craving. I also crave walleye and am looking forward to it. And (of course) the frozen custard.

Culver's had a North Atlantic Cod special, BUT, the main fish on their menu IS Walleye, a Great Lakes fish known for it's sweet taste. Along with Lake Perch and Pickerel, they make the Trio of great tasting lake fish.

Now, if any place opened up serving the latter, I'd have a name plate engraved on a seat there! :D

My mouth is watering. I think I'm going to have to drive to Clermont or Winter Garden to get my Culver's fix.

I am pleased for your good health. Does bad booze slam your arteries shut? Junk food is all relative. Bad for you food can be purchased at expensive restaurants. Culver's sandwiches are tasty and the place is well run and clean. I doubt that many are going to make a steady diet of it. Most of us are aware of healthy eating and a well balanced diet with lots of fruits and vegetables, low fat and good proteins.

Today’s mail included a coupon sheet for Culver’s. Not sure if Culver’s will be coming to Wedgewwod Lane (Glitz), or to Trailwinds Village. However the coupons all expire on 12/31/17. Has anyone heard of Culver’s opening in TV this December before we toss these coupons?

Glitz in final stages of close-out sale, I think the final day is this week.
Will be a while for the reconstruction to be completed would be my guess.
Mail the coupons to your friends in the Midwest.

If you want to make it a trip...you can drive down to Clermont to their Culver's or to Orange Coast or Tampa or Gainesville. That is before the coupons expire. Folks in our house can't wait til it comes here!!! :icon_hungry:

Culvers

They serve walleye pike also. Had some down in Clermont and had forgotten how good it was. And I always bring home a bag of cheese curds.

So does that mean you are going to live forever? Hardly. Liquor kills your liver and alter's you're ability to make good decisions. FACT. Good or bad.

Does anyone know when Culvers will open?
Does anyone know when Habaneros will open? It is the restaurant that is opening in the old Crispers location.
The only information I can find online says Habaneros was scheduled to open in November 2017.
Both restaurants are in Southern Trace Plaza.

November 2017 is correct. You know how it goes here.
Just like The Villages build-out date. It just keeps moving.

I spoke to someone in Habaneros a week ago and he said they were planning on opening the last week in January. (fingers crossed).

Thanks for the posts. I guess all bets are off until I see Habaneros with an Open sign.
Same with Culvers as target dates seem to "slip" a lot in The Villages.

Chatbrat 01-23-2018 08:36 AM

Just looked @ their menu, just a reminder if you care--the max sodium per day should not exceed 2300 mg--if you are on a low sodium diet--be very careful what you order @ Culvers
