There is only one Hot Dog in the world, worth eating ... & that's a Fenway Frank, sitting in the Bleachers at Fenway Park.

Get 'em while you can, because there won't be Bleacher Seats much longer.

All others are wannabes.

Flo's aren't all that great. The dogs are lousy, the relish is ... interesting. The whole thing is just a novelty from the past. & trust me, eating a hot dog in 10 degree weather, while standing knee deep in snow, takes some of the fun out your hot dog experience.

Just had a Fenway Frank (in my kitchen). You should give Flo’s another try....maybe in 80 degree weather and a 70 dew point, much better experience ;)

Btw...great picture. Only thing that has changed is fuel injection and asphalt roads!

Yep, but at least the same people are still working there ... other than Flo, who thankfully, has moved to a place where the hot dogs are always hot.

Real Kosher Hot Dogs, with natural casings. Typically sold at a Kosher butcher shop or deli, link style, where you can buy a strand of dogs...

You'll get that "CRUNCH" when you bite them...

Add brown mustard, maybe sauerkraut and your golden...

Up north we could buy Kosher (better than Hebrew National) hot dogs at supermarkets but not down here.

Yup...she used to count the money in the back like a Boss!

Great Chicago Fire in Leesburg actually has a good Chicago style hot dog.

A hotdog made with chicken on a bun with one-half hollowed out and filled with ketchup - what more could anyone hope for?

Further we should only allow mustard and sauerkraut to be put on the dog on top of the bun.

We will only eat Hebrew National hot dogs. Or rather, my husband and my dogs.
When the dogs go into their crates at night, they get 1/6th of a Hebrew National all beef hot dog. All I have to do is open the fridge door at 11 pm and they go tearing into their crates.
This does not work with my husband.

Connecticut pups

Hot dog aficionados may enjoy watching the film “A Connecticut Hot Dog Tour”. It’s pricey to purchase on Amazon but the trailer and individual clips of the various iconic Connecticut hot dog stands (including Blackies) can be found on YouTube.

Hummel's all-beef hotdogs, footlong, split and grilled, on a grilled top-split hot-dog roll, with spicy mustard and chopped onion.
Or their regular, with chili and shredded cheddar cheese.
Or my absolute favorite: with shredded cheddar and two strips of bacon.

But always split dogs. And always Hummel's. Can't get them around here and so far I haven't had anything that comes close.

(and yeah they're from Connecticut. Made in New Haven. Perri Sausage Company and Lenders Bagels originate in New Haven too. My grandfather was friends with Mr. Lender, and I worked briefly as a temp at Perri Sausage.)

You can get kosher dogs south of here, in Tampa, and West Palm and Boynton Beach, Boca Raton, Ft. Lauderdale, Deerfield Beach, all of that mess on the east coast. Lots of excellent Jewish delis and bagel shops to choose from. Lots of all kinds of local cultural foods from all different cultures. Unforunately, one thing that lacks in The Villages is diversity.

Smith's Natural Casing Wieners from Erie, PA. Absolutely the best!

New Haven for me is all about coal oven pizza!

Hot dogs are an abomination, food of the devil and should be banned, Kosher, Halal or Coney.
They even boil the disgusting things, for heaven’s sake
The ingredients seen to be a paste of unidentifiable source, much of which I am sure is waste from food bins, and veterinary surgeries.
There is only one item of culinary perfection that is worth eating, in a bread roll, and that is the Great British Banger.
Perfection in a roll or on a plate!
