Pooh, I'm closing on our house in Buttonwood on June 21 and will be down for a couple of weeks. If you want a blast from the past I'll bring you a couple of boxes. If I have internet access while I'm there, I'll PM you so I don't hijack this thead:thumbup:

Thanks.... :) AND....CONGRATULATIONS on your new house. Not sure if you'll be here seasonally or permanently, but either way, you're going to love it here.
CONGRATULATIONS once again.

That does it I will be in heaven there, since it has fried clams!! Now the big problem is to sell this house in Arkansas! UGH!! Thank you so much for the reply.

Thanks for the Info

I want to thank all of you for the great replys. I came from Revere, Ma, so I grew up by the beach and dug many a clam, mussles, perry winkles (SP)etc. We had fresh crab and lobsters every weekend, those were the days!! Probably couldn't afford fresh lobsters every weekend now they have gotten so expensive. Can't wait to come and visit, will be there around the middle of July to celebrate our 45th wedding anniversary. My hubby would move us there if we could just sell our house and at least sell it for what we paid for it 6 years ago. We live on a golf course here and it is beautiful here but I am ready to move to a more convienent place to get around in. We are in the woods here and need to travel a good way to get anywhere. Don't get blown away by any hurricanes before I get there. THanks again to all of you. Rosanne :2excited

Hey Rosanne, I Hear you! We visited several times and fell in love with the lifestyle. With prices down but on their way back up (at least in TV) we decided to roll the dice and buy now, even though our house up north won't go on the market until the first of the year. Even though we didn't want to carry 2 homes we're thinking of it as an investment in our future that will pay back dividends. Anything can happen, but investing in TV is one of the better real estate you can make, because there are thousands of people like us who would love to be there too!

I am new to this site, my husband and I are planning to come and have our preview stay there, I was just wondering if there is any restaurant there that has Fried Clams or Steam Clams like New England does. I was born and raised in the Boston, Ma area and I sure would like to find a place that makes them. We live in Hot Springs Village, Arkansas right now and want to check out The Villages and see if it would be a great place to live. I like the idea of everything being right there when you need it or want it and not having to travel for almost an hour to get anywhere. Thanks for the forum, I enjoy reading all about the lifestyle there. Rosanne H

There is a little clam shack next to the Kittery Trading Post on rt1 in Kitery ME. That's about the closest.

And I thought that I was the only one who ate perriwinkles! :p IMHO, nothing compares to the fresh seafood in Prince Edward Island, Canada!

A warm summer day, a sandy beach, a big pot of boiling perriwinkles with crushed red pepper, and a pin! It doesn't get much better than that!:pepper2:

I'm thinking that someone (not me, that's for sure!) should put together a really huge and authentic New England Clam Bake. You could probably accommodate everyone who might come if you held it over several nights right in Market Square! :a040:

What you think?
