If you're from "up North", you'll find Billy's the closest thing to a good diner in the 3 countys. Food is generous, prices are very fair, the wait staff polite and as quick as the cook!

Bob Evans is a great place for any meal.

Son Rise is located off CR 466 near Buena Vista. Go west about 1/4 mile from Buena Vista and turn right into the shopping center with Publix and Crispers. Note the main shopping center has Publix and Crispers running parallel to 466. There is a small strip of buildings about the middle of the shopping center not attached to the main shopping center and perpendicular to the main shopping center. Son Rise is on the end of this small group of buildings. Good food, service and prices. Primarily Breakfast and Lunch.[

SIZE="5"]First Watch is the other good breakfast place. It's in the Spanish Plaines Shopping center on the corner of US 441 and Buenas Aires Blvd. Very clean, good food and reasonably priced. If coming from the villages take Morse Blvd north to El Camino Real , go left (West) to Buenas Aires Blv'd. and make a right. First watch is in the north corner of the shopping center.[/SIZE]

The Cottage Inn on 441 near 466 is another one that's like you might remember from the north country. Good Grub and pleasant servers. Usually very crowded, especially on weekends.

Ours is Ohio based Bob Evans on 466. The word has gotten out because there was a huge line at seven last night.

Our crockpot cooking the bean soup shut down during the electrical glitch yesterday afternoon and we sought good and cheap and fast.

Try any of the several versions of the breakfast that has all the usual stuff; eggs,potato,meat... plus several choices of breakfast breads, try the strawberry banana crepe or the blueberry one with it.Their biscuits are flaky and served HOT, their banana bread and/or yeast rolls/ sweetcherry bread comes with and if each orders something different, a basket is brought to the table. You can have eggs, meat, potatoes, and I choose one that comes with the crepe for less than nine dollars I think. The coffee is wonderful and the place is spotless.

And you will want to take some of their yummy soup home, (five dollars a container) or one of their delicious pies.

They are based in Ohio and serve typical midwest stuff.

The manager was manning the hostess post last night and doing a great job getting the crowd seated. I love the servers, most are "villages age" and warm and very good at their jobs. The bus people were really hustling and getting everything tidy for the next folks. We didn't have to wait as long as I would have thought with the crowd, Maybe 20 minutes?

I must be crazy to share this. We will NEVER get seated again.

OH and their house salad dressing is a sweet poppy seed and always served on crisp, very fresh greens.

Boy Howdy I love Ohio cookin!

Gracie-I love that salad dressing!
