There isn't a good Chinese restaurant anywhere close to The Villages, period. And please separate restaurants from buffets. Buffets, be they Chinese, Mexican, Country style, or the God awful seafood buffet are the worst culinary presentations in the industry. They are a way to maximize profit while serving an inferior product. Any Executive Chef anywhere, including the big time chefs on TV, and here in The Villages that offers you a buffet is selling out his/her profession, and putting profit above quality. And I know many people like buffets, BUT how long did that fresh tray of food sit on shelf in a kitchen before it was brought out on the line? Just a thought.

You have to go to Orlando to get quality Chinese food...scallion pancakes, peking duck, pigs ears, and a variety of dim sum from carts...

Many of the buffets also let you order a meal if you don't want the buffet.

OFF TOPIC ALERT

Does anyone cook Chinese better then what's being served? Can you share any secrets, websites or recipes? I know how to google for that sort of information who I want to hear from is someone that "woks the wok" not just "talks the talk".

The Gourmet Club's Facebook Page just announced that the new Asian restaurant in Ocala received 14 1/2 Stars (out of 15) from two members. Wow! Sounds yummy! Gotta try it.

KOYAME gets my vote too. Great, clean restaurant with some of the best fried rice I've had.

The best dish they have there to me, and I have tried a bunch, is the Mongolian Beef. The house fried rice is also fantastic.

Good Chinese food is an oxymoron here -- Koyame is is the best of not so good -
we had a great thai restaurant - Siam Orchid but it went out - evergreen is OK
