Roberto’s Ristorante located in Pinellas plaza has a grouper dish called Grouper Italiano. Grouper is sautéed in olive oil , fresh garlic and cherry tomatoes and with mussels and clams over linguini with a white wine sauce.

Delicious!! And only $18 !!

Every time I share a recipe on this forum, I wait to be ridiculed.

However. This is one that is easy and delicious. And yes, many of us have grown up cooking frozen fish that was not available close to our homes.

Frozen, unbreaded, naked Cod from Publix.

Melt 3-4 tablespoons of butter on cookie sheet. Place Frozen Cod that has been slathered with Hellmann's mayonnaise and coated with a mixture of flavored Panko crumbs and parmesan cheese on top of melted butter. Bake for 45 minutes at 350.

It is yummy.

Waiting to be criticized. I KNOW it's Cod and not Flounder. Midwesterners also love Salmon Patties from a can.

Recipe; Drain red salmon from can and smoosh all bones. (leave them in...rich source of calcium) Add beaten egg, finely diced onion, half a sleeve of smooshed Ritz crackers. Mix all together with your clean hands and let it sit for an hour or so in the Fridge. I form into three patties.

Fry in butter and oil until brown and yummy and eat with catsup. Yes...or ketchup.

At Bonefish Wednesday night this week, they had Grouper on the special menu. All good at Bonefish.

Grouper

Bluefin in Brownwood and Bonefish on route 441.

Grouper

Grouper at Carrabba's on 27/441 is excellent as is the Grouper at Giovanni's on 466a near The Villages High School. Neither is fried.

I think they are talking about either the restaurant at Nancy Lopez or Arnold Palmer

Restaurant

We just ate at the Fisherman restaurant on 44 in Inverness. It is about 10 to 12 miles from Brownwood Square. It was one of the best fish fry and scallops we have had since we moved to the villages five years ago. I would highly recommend trying this place out. It is definitely nothing fancy and probably would pass it without any thought of stopping there. I told the owner it was fantastic!

Like you said 15 years ago. It was even cheaper and I swear tasted better 25 years ago.

When a great fish is found - over fished per govt - it creates a niche expensive spot for those who can afford it.

If you can't it's talapia/pollock or another super cheap fish marked up of course.

Try The Fisherman restaurant on 44. It’s excellent!

I had Grouper last night at Mallory CC. It was $16 for the dinner and it was great. It was on special for Friday night and I hope they offer it again soon. I can't wait until they get their full menu back again.
