Default Havana

Went to the Havana CC last night--the meal was above avi-compared to other CC in TV

Had Grey Goose martini's--not subject to happy hour $$ when compared to the Cane & Arnold Palmer

Had a swordfish special--too bad the swordfish as too thin

Swordfish should be@ least 1" thick, center pink and the meat should flake off

Admiral had a yen for a burger and she was content as it was a very good burger

Hope they do a better job in their presentation of seafood in their new venture in Brownwood

Havana Group is not opening in Brownwood. That's the Belle Glade CC Group.

So sorry-thought it was them

Talking about liquor pricing is a 300% mark up standard for liquor

A .750 L bottle of Grey Goose cost including tax $27.00- It holds 25 oz of liquid--@ $3.50/oz per dink equates to $87.00/per bottle or $60.00 gross profit per bottle

In Manhattan a beer is ten bucks. It's all relative. I would rather be HERE.

Where's my "like" key!!! I recently saw a post where someone had to pay $19.00 for a beer in a plastic cup no less. I'm glad I stick to water!!!

In NYC you're nothing but a $$ filter--great place to make $$, but once you've made $$$ bail

Friends of mine from NY when they first visited were blown away when a beer was $1.50.

Three years later, beer at Fenney grill, a beer was $1.37.

Went to Aw Shucks and beer was $1.00.

I love it here and so do they.

There will be day when wild ocean fish will be off the market leaving only certain farm raised. When the seas are stripped. Only fish left will be Asian carp, gar, tilapia and rare catfish.

IMO I won't eat certain fish do to their dwindling numbers swordfish being one of them.

I was at Havana last night...I have never been disappointed. Their chicken parmesan is huge and I have it with potato instead of pasta. Last night I had the margarita pizza which was the best I've had...just needs a little more basil...now for prices. They do have a new menu. The entree I love went up $1.00...chicken parm now $15.95 a great share meal or a take home left over meal, the pizza $14.95 but well worth it as it was plenty for 2 people and we brought 2 slices home. Now for the cocktails...I am a martini drinker...2 weeks ago $8.50...last night $10.50...very large martini glass filled to the top. No complaints here and the atmosphere is wonderful.

I thought Havana Country Club had closed? Had been worrying about a friend who is a waitress there a few months ago. She does move from country club restaurant to restaurant as a bartender or waitress.

I will have to check Havana out if it has the same people as before?

HA! Like when my son was little and he always wanted ketchup on his pasta instead of "gravy"? I thought for sure my Italian mother-in-law would excommunicate him from the family. But because he was the sunshine of her life, NOTHING doing......he got the ketchup.

I had lunch one day and dinner another at Havana while I was there. For lunch we just had the chili which was very good. For dinner we all had various things and I'd say it was average - no one complained but no one raved either. They were certainly very attentive though, both waiters and what I thought were probably owners who stopped by our table to check on us quite often.
