Had dinner at Havanna last night and the food was great. But we thought that Thursday's usual entertainment was Petrina. Instead there was a group called Ivory and Silk. They were not even just ok. Their set up was such that you really couldn't hear them or understand when they were talking. Music was BLAH! I understand that they are there every Thursday now. What a disappointment that Patrina is no longer there!

Hi Mac, yes, I know. Havana let go all of their entertainment, Petrina, the LeCroix's, The blues guy (can't remember his name) and only kept Patrick. I will put a link here for the thread where I threw a tantrum about it, so you can see it. I'm totally upset by what's happening with our entertainment around here and I'd like us all to support them and help them get through this rough period until the snowbirds return and hopefully more jobs for them.

I think it's a Damn shame that a small group of people ruined the outside music that was at Havana. I hear some other clubs are being targeted also. What a waste of outdoor space. I really don't see the problem with the music as it was ended before 9:00 PM which is the County Law. Kathy I think you need to bring that Petition over again. I hope that people still support Havana. I know the meals have gotten a lot better, the Happy Hour is probably the best in TV. As for the music I was there last week when Pat was playing and quite a few people got up and danced. It was quite a nice evening. Hope things work out.

Have not been to Havana since they let Petrina go and we will probably not be back there anytime soon. We very much enjoyed going there for dinner and drinks while listening to her entertain. The restaurant is just so-so but it was the entertainer that brought us in.

Maybe everyone should go on Friday nights.

We went to Havanna last night for dinner with a group of about 20. Food was good, entertainment was great as well as the service.

No complaints here.

spk... you can see her on Saturday nights at Taverna Red in Bailey Plaza on 441/27. I know its a bit of a trip, but she's well worth it. She's performing from 6 to 9pm. The food is great there. She puts on a wonderful show, I enjoyed myself last week.

Thanks, we have been there a couple of times now just as we usually frequent the Tea Plantation on some of her Friday nights. Last night with guest performer Vondal was very good.

Yes, Vondal is very good, he sometimes comes to Havana on Mon or Tues to sing, depending upon his schedule. I haven't seen him with Petrina yet, but I'm sure its a great show.

It never ceases to amaze me of the talent we have here in TV, we are very lucky to be able to see these performers for the cost of a dinner and a few drinks.

KathieI, you're wrong on this one, and I must agree with Phyrst.

While I can respect your unwavering approval/support of the pathetic junk that is Havana, I have to call you out... Several Mondays ago, when music was still allowed on the patio at Havana, i was coming in from golf and witnessed Patrick being told by Donald Slage to turn the speakers AWAY from the patio, and TOWARDS to parking lot. It wasn't dark yet, but the music was rather loud. Patrick not only did NOT do as he was told by the man paying him, he also proceeded to play the music louder. Maybe it was a week later when the music stopped. Patrick really does have a horrible attitude, I find him pretty disrespectful to us Villagers. Condescending, really. But hey, if that's the type of people you want to hang with, more power to you.

Again, you can petition all you want, the lease, according to MANAGEMENT OF HAVANA, does not allow for outdoor music.

If you don't believe this post, why don't you just take the bull by the horns, so to speak, and contact Mackie McCabe with the Villages, he'll set the record straight real quick. HE'S the one who told Don and Kris to stop the music..in a meeting HE called with Don and Kris.

Don's got pretty loose lips, all you need to do is ask him, he'll tell you.

But hey, I'm just saying...put credit/blame where they are due.
