Have Lopez Prices gone out of sight?
Last week my wife and I had dinner at NL. It seems that every time we go there, the prices are higher than the previous visit. Last week, during the prolonged rain storm, we had dinner which consisted of one glass of wine each, one diner each and shared a desert. Cost with tip, $82.00. I realize that NL has perhaps the most consistently best food and service in TV but it just seemed to us that their prices are escalating exponentially. Anyone else experienced this?

We had excellent lunches there today, and we didn't really notice a price difference. No drinks or dessert, though. They do have a new lunch menu, and I was miffed that they had removed my favorite, the Lobster BLT pizza. If they have a new dinner menu also, they certainly might have upped those prices.
Hubby had the reuben and I had the Lopez club sandwich. We both ate every bite and the cost, before tip, was around $17. Well worth every cent. |

MMC24 obviously depends on what you ordered. With one drink and entree each, you must have ordered the surf and turf for that price or some other high end preparation. Have had many delicious entrees for considerably less money including 2 drinks each.

Wow, I find that hard to believe. When we were down two weeks ago we didn't go to NL, but did go to Palmer which we heard was higher then most and had about the same as you, and our bill was about $20-30 cheaper. Also went to Cane Garden which we thought was priced very good.

Is the Lopez restaurant on that "sock it to em" plan for sales guests? It is in effect at Cattle Baron, where there are sky high prices for certain entrees because sales guests are using a pre paid voucher. At Cattle Baron, I remember seeing some entrees that were over $50. Maybe Lopez (actually Legacy) is part of that deal.

Good Point about NL being part of the sales package. I bet this is so. I find NL Lopez prices out of our normal spending budget for Dinner.

Check www.legacyrestaurant.com for latest menus and prices. Noticed entrees ranged from 10 - 25. Someone else mentioned unfounded rumors getting out of hand and ruining the publics perception of a business. This is my attempt to inject some "facts" not rumors about Lopez Legacy restaurant.
For what it's worth I am not an employee or affiliated in any way with this restaurant. Just happen to like the restaurant and don't particulary care to see unsubstantiated rumors about them on this web site. Thanks for hearing me out......... |

No, NL is not part of the meal deal with LSV.

Looking at this menu, it is most certainly different than the one I saw when I dined there. In fact I had banned it because of their prices. When did the menu change please? This is definitly now a menu I could afford to dine at. The menu I am familiar with was 22.00 plus per meal. Lamb, Prime Ribs, Steak. There was nothing for $12.00 -$15.00 on the menu.
Are salads part fo the meal now or are they ala Carte" as well? They were ala carte at the prices I mentioned. So I know this is not the same menu. Glad for the changes. I'll check it out. |

No, I did not have the surf and turf. That meal is too much to eat and I don't particularly like leftovers. My wife had the Sea Bass and enjoyed it immensely.

Went to NL twice this month and enjoyed both dinners. First time was a birthday celebration and had a great meal, steaks, drinks, wine & desert for a reasonable price.
Server told us that they did in fact change the menu to compensate for the economy, they now have sandwiches and luncheon items on the dinner menu. Price aside, we found the dining experience and service, aka ambience, first class. You really can't put a price on that. We joined the frequent diner club. Bon Apitit

Oh course you can put a price on that was a bit too much on a fixed income.

We don't go out to eat very often...perhaps twice a month....however atleast one of those outings is Lopez(Legacy @ Lopez)!!!
I order the same exact meal every time we go....and my dinner companions order similar items each month! I just went back and looked at our bank account (we actually have a special account just for dining out purposes). Each and every time the charge on our account, for the last 10 months, has been within $10 of each other. Trust me...we would never spend more than $60 for two of us....and that includes wine (during happy hour), soup or salad (mushroom brie for me), entree and of course dessert to split! This $10, I believe, is the difference in tips!! I do have my favorite seating areas and servers...in fact they know us well enough that they seat us in certain areas (because we prefer them) and give us certain servers because they know we love them!! I guess my 2 cents on this topic is that we are regulars at Legacy....we order similar items, have similar drinks each month, are part of their frequent diners club and have NOT seen any changes or differences in the bills for the last 10-11 months, except perhaps the tips. LLL LOVE LOPEZ LEGACY

Three of us went to Legacy last night for steak night. Dinner and drinks came to $80 plus tip. New menu is nice. Most entries are in the $13 - $19 range with the steaks around $25. However what they do not show on the web site menu is that you can get a petite version of some of the steaks for about $4 or $5 less than the full version. Steak night is an excellent value.
