He just did a revamp of the menu at the refurbished Planet Hollywood Observatory in Disney Springs. The Disney Food blog gave it a lukewarm review. They liked a few things, but felt most of them were blah.

His New York place had a lot of food and management issues as well.

I suppose we will not be going there now. Have never been there. Did go to the place that was in the spot just before and it was just OK. Friday's maybe??? https://www.facebook.com/pages/TGI-F...03442979730758

Honest Johns is closing Sunday. It will reopen in a month. It will then be a Guy Fieri American Kitchen and Bar. This is not rumor, I know for a fact.

Just looked @ Guy Fieri American Kitchen & Bar's website for his NYC location--if they think that menu & prices will work in TV, in ain't gonna happen

Guy Fieri's would be something different which can be a good thing. I liked Honest John's And Friday's. What I didn't like was the extended closing between the two.

That would at least be interesting.

I would definitely not pay those prices. I can only hope they wouldn't be as high as they are in New York.

What are their prices like in Orlando?

Again, very pricey. It's a Planet Hollywood. I think he just worked on the menu there.

Chatbrat 04-12-2017 01:23 PM

google is your friend, very enlightening

I just looked at the Orlando prices and I agree, these prices are very high. I would have to think that Guy Fieri and his staff are good at what they do, and have a realistic idea of The Villages market. But then again, $6.95 for a bottle of domestic beer might make me question that. We'll have to first see if this takeover happens, then what the menu and prices are.

They are working on a press release to let everyone know exactly what's what.

Sorry, I think I missed something. Who are "they?"

JoMar 04-13-2017 06:51 PM

Call me a pessimist but The Villages won't support a high end resturaunt which is why, if the rumor has any legs, it will not be at the level of his other places, if those prices are correct. He might do a "diner, dive or drive-in" concept which probably would be closer to expectations of the masses.
