Bonnie, if you're involved with the interior design on this new one, how about some sound dampening panels hanging from the ceiling. Tone down the ever-present din to a manageable level for those of us who have some hearing issues. I suspect you would find we are in the majority around here, although some will not admit it.

I definitely don't have anything to do with that kind of stuff. I just helped with the fun decorating stuff.

I just hope they put in a nice non smoking area. I love to be out in the beautiful fresh air in Florida.

I think the term tavern is not a designation at all. It is used regardless the make up of the business entity......just as the word resort is used and abused by many establishments that do not come close to measuring up to what is a pecieved intent.

North/South or any where else on the compass, sounds like a bar that serves food or an eating establishment that serves booze.

I would like to say that historically the bar food in Columbus and Cincinnati was some of the best .

They served yummy stuff like mock turtle soup and chili and great German cold cuts and Cartoffel salat and sausages and yes, good cold beer, freshly brewed from some of the family owned breweries closeby.

I have great memories about the food at Diebels and Grundys in Columbus, Ohio.

But that was then and this is now. I just love the name of this new pub. And with Bonny helping to decorate it, how can it be anything but good?

P.S. I changed the the spelling of German Potato Salad because the right spelling starting with a K is automatically exxed out. Cart spelled with K is a bad word I guess.

Don't know if they will need my decorating help on this one. But I'm always happy to help. Mike & Gina are awesome people.

Bonnie, I'm with you on this one (of course, also a Michigander..Sterling Heights, Warren, Bloomfield Hills). I'm looking forward to the opening. My first thought of a Tavern is Cheers. Bonnie, how about Red Coat Tavern?

Northern tavern in my world means fish fry and potato pancakes on Fridays.

How on Earth can we discuss the merits or attributes of a restaurant that is not open and will not be for months?

Easy! It's called speculation.

This restaurant sounds awesome. I don't understand why some Villagers ask for good restaurants with real chefs and then complain that the restaurant should change their menu based on their preferences.
