Nathans in the Walmart on 466 is by far the best hotdog and value for the money in the area. One tip--their fries are excellent if they're freshly fried. Insist on this. Don't put up with soggy fries that have been sitting under the heat lamp.

We've tried hot dogs all over the US, and the greatest by far is Nathans, and as mentioned earlier they have terrific fries, too. I worked in Chicago for a while, and never could understand how they claim to have such great hot dogs after having Nathan's.
A really great hot dog is slightly crispy on the outside and doesn't need toppings or fancy rolls to taste great.
I also don't understand the rave about Philly Steak, not to offend anyone in either Chicago or Philly 'cause I love those cities. There's no hot dog like the original Nathan's Coney Island, and there's no Cheesecake like Junior's original from Brooklyn. So glad to hear that there's a Nathan's waiting for us when we arrive on 12/28!

I'm Brooklyn born as well - my dad, born in 1918, had his first job at Nathan's in Coney Island - the original one. Always taught us that you've got to finish off any hot dog on a grill for that crispy outside. He also taught us that you could not reach 6 years of age without riding the Cyclone and Parachute jump - 040

with the Nathan's hot dogs. I'm glad the grocery store carries them!

Do you know that you can order Juniors cheesecakes from QVC? Just go to QVC.com and do a search. Of course, maybe you can order direct from Juniors as well. I've never had one, but hear rave reviews.

No insult taken, I think its all in what you grew up with and got used to. Now, I have never had a N.Y. Nathans hotdog so I could change my opinion, but for now Chicago vienna red hots are :#1:

My wife was born in Brooklyn, but left at an early age. Her mother grew up there. She orders a Juniors cheesecake every Christmas, and they are excellent. Also, Nathans hot dogs are outstanding.
