Default I can no longer recommend Steak Fajitas at Miller's Ale House

A few months ago I ordered my very favorite in the whole wide world, Steak Fajitas at Miller's Ale House. My goodness, I was so disappointed because the steak was not the same as it always was from the day the restaurant opened here in The Villages. The meat was not tender at all and was so chewy, it took forever to be able to swallow the first bite. I told the server of my concern and was told it was a corporate decision to not use skirt steak any longer and they changed to a less expensive cut of meat.

I vowed never to order the Steak Fajitas again until two days ago. I asked our server if Miller's had gone back to the original skirt steak for their fajitas and I was told they are actually using a more expensive cut of meat now. So......I ordered the Steak Fajitas and kept my fingers crossed. Well, the meat was just as bad as I remembered from a few months ago when I vowed never to order the Steak Fajitas again at this restaurant.

I spoke to the manager regarding my concerns of not being able to chew the steak. He offered chicken fajitas instead and adjusted the check. I agreed to the chicken but I do not enjoy chicken fajitas nearly as much as good Steak Fajitas. Oh well, cross off that dish forever at Miller's. They went from the very best to the absolute worst Steak Fajitas I have ever had.

I agree. I started a thread about it 3 months ago. I ordered the steak fajitas and they were so tough that I refused to eat them or pay for them. They were terrible.

Applebys used to have excellent ones but took it off the menu. Now just get them at mexican restaurants.

FOREVER is a bit harsh, as they were accommodating to adjust your check. With the current and scoring cost of good steak Miller’s would probably have had to price their Fajita’s at a point where not many would order them. Instead they substituted a steak at a more reasonable price point. I love Miller’s and eat there often. At this point it may be the best decision to just pull them off the menu as Appleby’s did. I would not want to be in the restaurant business with current supply and price issues, along with employee difficulties. Just be happy an establishment like Miller’s is surviving. Adjust your eating desires a bit until we get through these difficult times.

Good points. If you cannot put out a good product that would be acceptable to your customers best thing is pull it off the menu. No idea why Applebys pulled it from menu years ago.

If you go to Miller's you must try the Pork Osso Buco. It's a marinaded shank, and it's lovely.

Maybe in not too distance future food prices will be so high restaurants may go out of business. I see $12 dozen eggs in near future, so eating out for breakfast will be out.
