We've "tried" Isabella's sweveral times over the past few years- we like to give places the benefit of the doubt- and have never been satisfied. The prices on the entrees are totally out of line for the food and the area, and service is always mediocre.

Their closing is their own fault, as evidenced by the comments that opened this thread. We are big fans of Little Joey's, although we have our own favorites so it's hard to tell if it's "all" good. Service is always fast, but a few of the youngsters don't have great social skills.

Our favorites: Chicken/veal marsala; c/v alla Joey's; Linguine Pescatori (awesome); Baked Raviloli & Manicotti. Never had dessert- always too full.

Linguine w/ white clam sauce is much better at Giovanni's.

We went 2 years ago and the end result was i had the "trots" when I got back to NJ for a week.

It took 45min to be seated, sent my raw veal back first time and manager said too pink? I said that it was still mooing. (cut into it and it bled on my plate. Back 2nd time, still red, back third time and my husband was done eating. Had to beg for a dessert menu and threaten to walk after that as we just wanted something quick, like a slice of cheesecake and a dish of ice cream. (not much work to that.) Those took about 20 min and then the band they had was so loud that you couldn't hear anything anyway. I wouldn't go back there or recommend it to anyone. Anyone that's Italian can't really think that place is good. Just because you go and graduate from Culinary School a top chef it does not always make. My son works in a restaurant up north and he said i was doomed once it went back a 2nd time. The 16 hour ride back to Philly was not a pleasant one, including the rest of the week. My doc said it was a case of food poisoning.

Could be. Food poisoning that is. First symptoms are usually about 2-6 hours out from ingestion. Makes for a LONG drive.
