Default Italian Bakery

Is there a good Italian bakery with fresh bread and Italian pastries in the area?

Pretty sure Gio's on 301 has Italian breads and pastries.

Glad to hear that you haven't lost your sense of taste and smell from your covid encounter.

We do have Winn-Dixie and their cakes and cookies are very good and Publix breads are good too.

It’s probably the best you will find around here.

I've been wanting to go there for several months now, but something always comes up. Is it as good as it looks?

Default Yalaha

Yalaha has wonderful pastries and breads, plus entertainment. Love that place. then again, you were asking about Italian bakeries, is definitely not Yalaha.

"Yalaha" doesn't sound German to me. Maybe it's supposed to be Valhalla?

I’m from Boston. We have Scala bread which I can’t seem to find anywhere.

My wife bakes all our bread and she use to make all the dough etc. by hand but found this great bread machine and it is still some work but the bread machine makes a great loaf of bread and we watch our salt consumption and it is perfect. I just love having egg whites with one regular egg and seasoning on the bread in the morning. The bread loaf is a little smaller but it is wonderful. Our neighbors really love it and they are snow birds and every time they come down they ask her about the bread and she makes sure they get some.

A bakery inside The Villages? You must be kidding. No specialized bakery could afford the rents charged here.

Gio on 301 was suggested, but it’s more a restaurant than a bakery. Yahala is an excellent German bakery, but it’s about an hour’s drive from the central Villages.

Nope. Nothing decent in the area at all. Someone opening an italian bakery or deli would make a fortune. And I mean real Italian, not the “in name only”
