Try Little Italy in Inverness.

No need to travel to Inverness, Little Italy closed due to pandemic.

Jersey Mike's is the best among the 3!

We really like Publix subs, we get them Boars Head.

Where in Boston? I'm from Revere.

If you're from Southie shouldn't you be discussing corn beef sandwiches?

Your Firehouse review threw me a bit. I'm a fan....that said I've never had the Italian sub there.

In conclusion, try Jersey Mike's I'll bet you won't be disappointed.

The guy at Firehouse asked if I wanted mayo on my Italian sub. Once we got the ingredients straight, he started to put it in an oven. I objected and said, "we put all our subs in the oven". I said, "Not that one. If you put it in the oven, I'm walking out of here without it."

I don't know about their other subs, but the Italian cold cut was mediocre and the idea of Italian cold cuts with mayonnaise toasted in an oven makes my stomach turn.

Subways almost insists on toasting chicken before they go into sandwiches. I ask them if the chicken is cooked they say yes but for some reason think they have to cook it again.

Why would anyone want to cook mayo for a sandwich?

1 - Wawa
2 - Jersey Mikes
3 - Publix

In that order especially when talking about Italian subs.

If your from Revere, you must have tried the subs at The New Deal on Broadway.

Loved D’Angelo’s too but I ordered mine on a sub roll, their #9 was pretty good too.

Totally different type food but Hilltop in Saugus just up the road from Revere was my favorite for years.

One guilty pleasure that I have is Italian subs. I grew up in a very Italian suburb of Boston and miss the great Italian subs from my home town.

When I first moved down here I was going to Subway which is mediocre at best. Then I had an Italian sub from Publix and was pleasantly surprised. Not like home but not bad. Firehouse Subs are awful.

Then Jersey Mike's came to town and I tried them and like them even better than Publix. So I've been going there.

I've been seeing some ads for Jimmy John's and have been thinking about trying them out. Has anyone had their Italian subs? How do they compare to Jersey Mike's?

For health reasons I only have one about once a month so I'd rather not waste it on something that's not going to be good.

You just reminded me of the best part of when I got to work in the North End. I would get the best Hot Pastrami sub at the Boston I store. The damn thing was so big I took half home. :coolsmiley:Someone told me Roberto's had damn good subs.
